I havent had time to go thru the thread but has any gist of MTN's "free" DSTV reached any of you guys? When I was at Abuja, I went to the office and it was "free" if you bought thier phone (@ abt N50k!!) It would have been better to just give access to those with compatible phones either free (AWOOF) or with some minimal access fee to get us hooked b4 they landed the REAL charges. For now i guess its for the bigger boys (AKA AYA (oops!! I mean Oluyom!! It gets hard to convert!!!) and Amby!!)
@Amby: It Seems we are soon changing ur title from Sultan of Celtel to the Tsar of Zain!!!

@Abu: Welcome back from beyond.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of the continuous name changes of the 0802 network. They either give us quality service or shut down. I reject the title. My celtel line has been dormant now for over two months. Even the internet I used to enjoy is rubbish. I'm only keeping my sim alive because its my most known number. If only number portability was already feasible.

Birds of the same feather....
@amby: You reject Celtel? Wonders! Honestly, I have all but given up on Celtel on everything except voice. My Celtel line does only voice and SMS now on a cheap N2,500 ZTE phone!
Meanwhile, Etisalat Nigeria is doing road shows, featuring at conferences across Europe and giving out branded paperbags instead of launching services. Sigh.
@abu, my brother from another mother, welcome back! Don't mind MTN. They generally seem more keen on selling handsets (Blackberry and DvBH) than getting their services in as many hands as possible.
Up Naija!

Celtel? Since I misplaced my sim cards I have not bothered to really look for them or replace them.
