I was privileged to hear tales of (and meet) some players years ago when i worked for a bookshop that was managed by some stalwart rugby manne. I remember players like Kleintjie Grobler of the Free State, and
Mof de Klerk from Northern Transvaal... Then there were names like
Moaner van Heerden, Pikkie du Toit, Bakkies Botha, and one of my absolute favourites- Frans Erasmus aka Domkrag. I don't know whether any of you guys ever saw him in person... What a guy! Picture this- about 5'9", the physique of a bull, no neck whatsoever, and a slow menacing jog on the field. He never ran, always trotted, but oozing power with every step. When he and Pote Human went down to scrum you simply knew there was sh*t on the way. I don't think i ever saw a game where he DIDN'T get into a scrape of some sort!! In a way he reminds me of Bullet, James Dalton. Dalton is much shorter, more compact, but he exudes power. I once saw him get into a fight at a beachfront pub and knock three bouncers out cold! Kort en kragtig, lol!

Good thing our rugby players are not into wrestling...would hate the names they would come up with!lol!i saw some local wrestling a while ago on tv, an attempt on a wwe type show. My word, they put the swiss back in cheeze! It was bad! Typical 'ek gan jou moer' material, but by the worst b side actors...think of the worst south african scum, multiply it by ten, and you might be able to conceive the type of people on the show...

Family braai today, stuffed myself silly with dead cow the south african way:) nothing like it...also had some good chats to family about growing up and what made me me. I am quite different in more ways than ten when it comes to my family and their culture. Was good. My aunt came back from tanzania this week, putting up cell phone masts or something in the process of getting them up. She was blown away by the beaches there. Sounds nice.

@ da brixsta,
It's a name that was hard to forget; the Springbok cyclist accomplished much in his day.
I did a quick google on him and I see that there's even a cycling route in SA named after him.
I've just remembered another wacky-named SA rugby player from the past...Fafa Knoetze!

@ Kryptik,
I remember domkrag! Yeah, what an apt nickname for him...

@ Francois,
This is one of our local music shops in neighbouring Romford in Essex, called PMT. (LOL...what a name.)
Anyway, they have some interesting decor and I thought I'd take a few pics with the Nokia 3230 of the place for you to check out:

How's this for a light fitting?

Old Roland pre-amps and mixing boards embedded into the floor detailing:

Gibson guitar necks as door handles:

Guitar effects pedals embedded into part of the outside doorway.

So I really badly want to post like 200 pictures, but I am working on-site this week, so I don't think it will happen this year...maybe if I hurry every day...will see what I can do...

Everybodies leaving at my work. Just upping and quitting. I want to too, but there just isn't a job that is offering the right salary for me... and now I'm stuck here.

And the management are too stubborn to bother ask why they are quitting.

That's understandable, I was 10 when this all happened so it feels like a half a lifetime to me.

Where has HTC come from? I've never heard of them before like last month when someone mentioned the TyTn.

Seems like you all had good/interesting weekends, I slept most of my weekend away, and on friday night-saturday morning my bro and I built something crazy, I'll post a pic tomorrow.

@Siosal
You gotta be proactive, find any and all companies that would need someone with your expertise and email them your CV.
Do it from your private email address though, dont need them prying.

Dont think so, I've just checked and they're 2 seperate companies.
But it's weird, the phones are very similar, and all out of my price range.

Damn, it's 12:30, I've done nothing all day and I'm bored out of my mind.
