I remember there was a brand called AIWA in 1990 and above, they specialized in Audio products mainly.. they had very good audio quality and features with a lot of effects and audio enhancement... you can get a Sony product with same features but AIWA will be 20 - 30% cheaper... quality and support was strong also... peoples just went for AIWA coz they can get the same quality and feature for much less price..
just few years after that and Sony felt the pressure and they bought it... they didn't want to compete in price as this will mean lowering the Sony brand premium over other products...
Now Samsung is doing almost the same, but more also and they succeed in the first attempt so they did it again and again, and the more they success.. the more they will do it...

Yea I agree with most members on this forum. They copied the name of Xperia Active and combine it with s4 = Galaxy s4 active and they copied Xperia Sola floating touch features lol. Samsung are more like China brands because they like to copy. We reached 600th page huhuh

I think the Samsung bashing in the last few posts have been way over the top. Yes, sure they've copied some stuff, like that home button (from Apple) I don't like. But face the reality: They deliver top-performance products, customers obviously like their displays, their cameras are rated better than most other Android phones in all-around lighting in test after test. How come Sony who has a long history of sensors and cameras can't beat the S4 camera with the XZ? How come Sony messed up with their SW updates across the line? How come the XZ display is so inferior compared to the competition ? SMC is a much smaller company, why do they release so many phones which they can't provide timely Android updates for ?
You can't just rely on Sony's superior design, face the reality: Sony is far from perfect! I'm not a Samsung fab-boy, I don't even have one of their phones.

Here is one example of the bad SW support (due to too thin resources?), the Xperia V's "sleep of death" problem. It took Sony 4 months to fix it. I helped a friend of mine, he had to go through 3 units before we found one that works:

when u hve never used/owned even a single samsuck product in ur life hw can u say that sony mobiles r inferior ???
I accept that a lot of improvement is still needed in xperias but that doesn't mean that galaxies r any better...
Amoled frm starting till now hve much more negatives than positives(unrealistic colors, less subpixel density, poor life, burn in issues, colour degradation).
Despite of being equipped with processors performing best on benchmarks, galaxies hve been extremely laggy!!!
Seriously poor designs(even chinese companies do a much better job at that)
poor build quality(there should b no doubt abt that).
As for cam performance if it wouldn't hve been sony supplying sensors, samsuck would hve miserably failed!!!
As for updates maybe u don't hve an idea that samsuck updates only their flagships while sony updates almost all the lineup!
And you call galaxies better than xperias... lol
This is d era of marketing+paid news & samsuck understands that very well unlike sony & that's why samsuck galaxies sell a lot more!!!
Sony all the way has been true to Japenese philosophy of competing in an Honest way and they r paying for that... But not anymore as they r again coming back in slow & steady way
Samsuck sucks really hard, they r CHEATERS, they COPY, they STEAL, use UNFAIR means(pay students to talk shit abt others brands on web), they PAY REVIEWERS, and a lot more...
I guess u just need to update urself...!!!
