I think the Samsung bashing in the last few posts have been way over the top. Yes, sure they've copied some stuff, like that home button (from Apple) I don't like. But face the reality: They deliver top-performance products, customers obviously like their displays, their cameras are rated better than most other Android phones in all-around lighting in test after test. How come Sony who has a long history of sensors and cameras can't beat the S4 camera with the XZ? How come Sony messed up with their SW updates across the line? How come the XZ display is so inferior compared to the competition ? SMC is a much smaller company, why do they release so many phones which they can't provide timely Android updates for ?
You can't just rely on Sony's superior design, face the reality: Sony is far from perfect! I'm not a Samsung fab-boy, I don't even have one of their phones.

You know, when Nokia began falling, big of a fan as I was, I was always able to criticise them rather than blame other phone makers and reviewers.
When the 1st Galaxy S landed it was highly criticised for copying the iPhone, many reviewers ripped it apart in the media, I can never forget how the Galaxy S and Android in general were bashed by Gizmodo's and Engadget's chief editors on Bloomberg, yet in the end the Galaxy S managed to break through all that and still be a success.
Blaming the media (reviewers, bribed supporters etc...) is such an easy and lazy cop out, it really is, but I guess its easier to make excuses and place the blame on the success of others, it's what many do when they don't like the success of others I guess.

Ah get why you don't quite see eye to eye with most people in this thread. You stand for that which we are appalled with. So a 'successful' product is a rip-off and there's nothing wrong with that? No-one here fails to criticise Sony where criticism is due. The problem is, you Samsung trolls take Samsung to be infallible, and turn a blind eye. It shows. And it's only since the release of the Z has your feelings changed to spite. The first page of the t thread shows you weren't that crazy back then.
On topic.
I'd guess the chances of a non-mainstream form-factor are pretty low, especially since there's been no play or tablet p successor...

I think once all screen sizes of phone / phablet have been covered, we could see new form factors. A slider would be my best bet.

This is excellent news - now all that remains to be seen is the relative performance of SD800 and whether Samsung double down on Octa with the Note 3.
Whatever, this means that Sony phones will be easily competitive with the octa S4.
