@ wanqa, getting fame from stamp? Won't happen! Fortune, definately! Dont worry, if i ever do such a thing, no-one will know about it. It will just be another be on the pack. The only give-away would perhaps be that it will actually have good production behind it. Crap music or not, when you make music, production has to be good:) so i will keep on contemplating the dark side...the studio i used to work at, its owner made the first afrikaans stamp cd. He is english through and through...you gotta do what will bring in the money, even if it is potjiekos treffers...

Quick question: anyone know of a bottom of the range contract on whichever network that you can get the m600i on? Something like family topup or anything. My brother seems interested. Asked me to find out. So out into the world again today. Finishing an alarm installation today. Only in my job would you work on a help file for an application and install an alarm thursday:) keeps it interesting....

@ deluded
i uninstalled version 3 and the problem went away

@ amawanqa
That song brings back so many memories! It really did much to change the way many of my peers thought-

...Here, have a dollar,
in fact no brotherman here,
have two
Two dollars means a snack for
me,
but it means a big deal to you...

...Now that I know him, to give
him money isn't charity
He gives me some knowledge, I
buy him some shoes...

...Civilization, are we really
civilized, yes or no ?
Who are we to judge ?
When thousands of innocent
men could be brutally enslaved
and killed over a racist grudge
Mr.Wendall has tried to warn us
about our ways
but we don't hear him talk
Is it his fault when we've gone
too far,
and we got too far, cause on
him we walk...

Those lyrics are brilliant...

Anyway, about the opera mini thing: i uninstalled it, and my version still had crap, even being severely discoloured(the bar at the bottom was a gradient red to white-it looked diseased) i eventually took it off and put it on again. After that, all smooth sailing:)

@amawanqa
@brix25
Well I think doing a course like that would be worth it, but only because I've always wanted to do something like that, and seeing that it's a specialised field, I can imagine the pay is more than enough to cover the initial expense.

And as for the Z310, it's a clamshell , need i say more.

Hmm I wonder when phones are going to come out with 24/32-bit displays.

@francoislr
Honestly if you make a Bok Drol/Jol Treffers CD I will personally hunt you down and kill you, the last thing we need is another treffers CD!

I think you can get the M600 on weekender everyday.

Has anyone seen the new James Bond? It was almost like I sat down to watch a Sony Ericsson advert.

Really enjoyed the new Bond movie. Lot of SE phones. K800 and m600 obviously, but also a w810 and a k700 amongst others.

Was a really great film overall though. Quite gritty. Definetly better than most.

Have you guys seen the SAS training and selection methods?

A hike with a couple of kgs of equipment, then a 12km run that has to done in an hour.

Then they are put in the jungle for weapons and combat training with live ammo.

Then they are put somwhere obscure with the bare necessaties and have to survive for a week while being tracked by pros.

Then after the week they are tortured mentally and physically.

Only between 2 and 7% make it in.

Makes you cringe.

@ Francois,
LOL, I guess you're right; how much fame can come from producing a stamp CD? Sigh, money makes the world go round, doesn't it?
Cue Afrikaans Darth Vader (Daaf Wyder?) voice: " Moenie die krag van Die Stamp Kant onderskat nie..."
Have you checked out this 'stamp' thread?
http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/archive/index.php/t-35881.html

@ Siosal,
Yeah I remember watching several Discovery Channel programmes on the Special Air Service's training.

There was also some South Africans in a programme I watched some time back on the French Foreign Legion training, following them from when they enrolled to them receiving the coveted Kepi Blanc.

@ Kryptik,
Yeah, powerful and memorable stuff indeed.

@ kitsune, why do you think i wont tell anyone it is me? for my life:)

@ amawanqa, lol, that was funny! Will go check out that thread, could do with a laugh:) the ultimate would be to make stamp that is so good it would humiliate all the other stamp makers, and you let it be known that a guy that hates it more than the devil made it:) Darf Wyder:)

@Brix, Ya They sampled Marvin Gaye. I think one other Mabhaqa artists sampled it also around 2000-2001.

@Franc, I haven't had a chance, to download yet. But I promised I'll do.

Maybe since you play instruments maybe you can hook me up with samples sometime. I will PM you.

Hope i can help, teeninvader. I will have to do everything digitally, which i can pull off using software. Actual recording requires equipment with price tags that would make a successful and highly corrupt politician cry:)

Anyway, that stamp thread was hilarous:) i need money. I am highly tempted to try my hand at writing some original afrikaans material. It is my mother tongue, and i might not like it at all, but surely i can try operate in it a little. Besides, no-one will know it is me, and maybe i will develop some cultural patriotism, something i have never had. I believe in balance, so that balance would be good for me.

So a quick question- what was the worse fashion craze you can remember that makes you think, gosh, how retarded...were we as the humans that stupid? I got one or two. Those caps with the metal on the front, the 'boy' and 'girl' ones. And my other, the coloured sunscreen that cricketers use. On them its okay, but goodness, it is NOT cooler than looking human on the beach:)

I have a buddy who did the course some years ago, Sio. Those backpacks are called bergen, filled with about 20kg of goodies, and they go for a hike along the Brecon Beacons. Not too sure where exactly those beacons are, i think he mentioned Scotland. Or was it Wales? Or Ireland? Anyway, it's hell on a man's body apparently; he served briefly with the SACC's 2nd battalion, then disappeared off the map for quite a while. Neither family nor then-gf saw hide nor hair of him apart from the occasional telephone call. Next thing i know, he surfaces amongst the guys escorting Madiba outa Pollsmoor. He still visits when he's in town, but remains tight-lipped about his current status, apart from telling me about those gruelling paces they were put thru with the SAS.
