off topic but Im curious about Sony (Ericsson) phones.

Has there ever been any phone explosion regarding Sony (Ericsson) phones in the past? or is Sony too much of a small player in the mobile industry that no reports picked up that they exploded?

Samsung phone exploded - like 3rd one now?

The reason for iPhone being more popular for everyday life photographer, camera super smart and simple
you only need a bit of steady hand (touch to focus if you want to) and lightly touch that capture button.
And let's software kick in to calculated camera algorithm, image processing software is one of the best optimization

You may argue that Nokia has superior hardware,
but UI and image processing of Windows Phone is not that help Nokia to that goal.
808PV is greatest camera hardware of all time (at least this century)
it may perform well but OS Symbian and Camera UI is too deep to learn
you need to heavily adjust to get used to before get the best out of it

that's where iPhone lead in smartphone field.

I think we all know why not to mention about Sony Xperia here.

I hope it is Fujitsu.

I think a Chinese manufacturer for the next Nexus would be a stroke of genius for Google.

I hope Sony is next. Though SEMC previously stated three years ago they will never make Nexus phones, things changed. During 2012, Google said Sony (Sony Electronics not SEMC) is a awesome contributor to the Android codes. And Google added Xperia S to the ASOP project. Sony is in a perfect position to create the next Nexus.

Can using a combination of removable and non-removable battery have any advantages?

Mostly Chinese device still using vanilla software and barely have any major customization as far as I commonly see (except Huawei and Oppo which has some), and they sell it at very damn cheap price from major competitor anyway. I really don't see a point why would Google let them to make a Nexus.

Today Google keep prioritize Japanese as 2nd tier Android citizen, although Sony has been invited to AOSP (by lead project manager) but not before long Google comment that they can't keep it up and dump Xperia S out of project. For next Nexus I doubt that Motorola maybe Samsung and HTC...

In case Sony decide to step in (as some of us wishes), it will be golden opportunity to hitting hard in US.
