They release all official firmware versions, both branded and unbranded on SEUS. Your IMEI-number tells SEUS what firmware you are allowed to download.

OOPS - fw R1BC - can no longer access the games or applications folders on the phone although the memory status says they each have about 850Kb with 0 files. Had phone from 1st week of release (2 months).
O2 sending a replacement so will see what fw this comes with. This is a genuine fault with handset which seemingly has corrupted some of its memory. Tried a reset then a full master reset before giving up.
One idea I did have but cannot check - is this due to not having the M2 card fitted anymore? (I sold it on ebay cause I didnt use it). Someone could try removing M2 card then see if you get into the games or apps folders? PS - games and apps cannot be seen from PC.
lol

All of this speculation is not going to change the fact that SE has not released it. Options remain the same. Pay for it or wait for it (if it ever comes).
The only thing missing is the grassy knoll conspiracy. SE has NEVER been constrained by time or the whims and wishes of users when it comes to the release of an upgrade. They release when it is ready. As for Wotan, they are just a money making enterprise so they have nothing to do with or when SE releases the software.

O2 K800i:
I had the same problem after a full master reset, the games and apps folder was empty (not even the pre-programmed ones), but the size was not 0 Kb.
I've solved by connecting to PC and make two new folders with same name that the orginal (Games ...), after that it worked normally.

After upgrading to R1ED using Wotan, I'm happy to see that the issues that annoyed me seems to be fixed;
1) Had Bluetooth problems with my "Wayfinder" bluetooth GPS receiver. The K800 and GPS receiver always lost contact after 5-10 minutes of operation. This seems to be fixed somehow, and "Wayfinder" program works flawlessly with the K800.
2) A few issues using the HBH-DS970 seems to be fixed. It is much more stable now and also shows MP3 IDtags on the handsfree display. The only thing that still is annoying is that sound and picture is still a bit "unsynced" when playing streamed content and watching mp4 movies with sound through HBH-DS970.
Overall this fw seems more stable, but this is a most subjective opinion.

I agree - I then had two new folders AND the old games and apps folders. No games or apps available not could I access the folders on the menus. Thanks for your advice.
@MWarner - guess this is not the first time this has happened and from the O2 operator's reaction - an automatic replacement was ordered.
