yea i dont need no search thing....i have my pc for that...contacts is much more comfortable

Sure, I have done that. The thing is that I have to "use up" one of the four shortcuts for something that obviously should have been one of the two softkeys on the standby screen.

You don't need a FIXED "Contacts" button on SE phones as it has Smart Dialing. Just slide out the keyboard and press the keys (T9 style) to look up contacts. The options will let you edit the contact. Or you can set the buttons on D-pad to launch contacts.
