is it anything to do with child friendly at all? does it make any one feel stupid putting these feature? then why is there a manual book in evey product? then why is there a help feature in every software program? then why esato made the efford of putting smilies
where we can simply put ; )... why?? then why having this post if u think people are so damn clever... then why people says Nokia is much more user friendly then SE?? All i see is.. it is a bonus feature, SE has been inovative with ideas.. and making its product as user friendly as possible.. they deserve such efford.. u fail to SEe that. if u dont like it, then I'll suggest you go to settings, display, interactive lights and select off..

i remember teaching people how to lock the T610 long ago. something like this will make it easier for non-techie people.
besides i don't look at the keypad anyway - i push the buttons and look for the big Key icon to appear and that's it.
this lighted keypad thing is no big deal IMHO.
EDIT: and if you're drunk it will help you find the keys!

Id bet money on that if the K750 does have this function, we wont be able to disable it.
The difference between the manual and such lights is, with the manual, you can read it once and then never look into it again.
With these lights, if we're not able to disable them, everytime you want to unlock the phone you'll be treated to idiot proof guide lights. It would be like carrying the manual around with you the whole time.
I say this to
: sure, implement this feature, but if you choose to do so, allow those of us with an average IQ or higher the ability to disable this function. We're quite capable of remembering how to lock and unlock the keys without the need for such a feature.

why have lights on keys that don't do anything? I wouldn't take the phone as a personal insult. Computers have a light grey font when you cant select something... it's the same thing. plus it saves battery.

those light effects are not for learnin or to show people how to lock /unlock..infact in braod day light it wont even be visible..
its just there cause its cool...and what the point of all the keys lighting up when its locked...waste of power...

The main time you'll notice this is when locking/unlocking the phone. The keyboard will be fully lit up then you'll press * then presumably only the more button will be lit up. SE isn't treating us like babies because they already instruck you every time you lock when the more button turns to lock. Also this feature could help the phone to be unlocked by someone else in a emergency. If someone finds you lying on the floor and then needs to use your phone to ring for help, this will help.

what bout the onscreen display tellin u to press the * and right soft key....isnt that tellin u what to do..doesnt that put u off? or have yall disabled that someway.....the lights are doin the same thing..i dunno why yall gotta be so negative bout it....
i saw the animated flash presentation on the se site..
and there is a keypad light up sequence during phone start-up...and i think it looks really awesome...

Also, if someone were to get their hands on my K750i, id rather them not know how to unlock the keypad, since i keep personal pictures and SMS's from friends, family and my girlfriend on my phone.
Im sure if i got hit by a bus, and someone found me in the street they'd call for help on their own mobile phone, rather than search my flattened body for a phone.

I've had a look at the trial one i've got and doesn't do the key lock lights thing.
Never know though it could be changed in the final firmware
