After Brym's post I was encouraged to try again, but have unable to make the data purchase. I've sent the sms but haven't received the confirmatory sms.

Since we all have different values, could it be teething problems of the new data plans or is MTN deliberately cheating some subscribers?
I doubt abt it being "deliberate" but as u know there are sins of commision and sins of omission!!! And the way most telecom operators make thier cc so unreachable! I can remember a time when econet's cc was the only one free and accessible (after a 5 - 10 min music interlude).

@all: With regards the MTN Daily bundle, members of the MobilityNigeria.com team were brainstorming this issue, and we decided to explore the possibility that the system is programmed to expire after 12 midnight. If we find this to be so, it means when MTN said '24hrs' they meant a window of roughly 12 midnight to the following midnight. We are experimenting with this at the moment. Contributions from PNF members welcome. PS: Any PNF whizkids interested in writing for MobilityNigeria.com?

My MTN Daily Data Plan observations.
1st Experience: Activated to browse @ 3:16pm. De-activated @ 2:39am. Data used: about 9mb.
2nd Experience: Activated to browse @ 11:18am. De-activated around 2am. Data used: about 50mb.
Conclusion: In MY case, this theory is flawed.QED.

@oluy: u can sign me up! PM me the details of what kind of content u r looking for and how often u need it.
@all: i think mtn is just flubbing it as they go. If they are having probs with thier billing system, they should have done the usual and give the service out at a token price.

@all: I just spoke with someone at MTN Data Support. He's asked for detailed info so he can investigate. If you have used the 50mb Daily, please PM me the following details: phone line used; time subscribed; time cut off; amount of data used by the time you were cut off. This is an opportunity to do something about it. Thanks.

Feedback on today's MTN Bundle experiment: I got 50mb! I still believe that my theory has merit. The times in the past that I got less than 50mb were occassions when I did not use up the 50mb allocation by midnight. In my own case, the expiry text came in between 12 midnight and 2am. Either the system delayed or a buffer period exists before users are cut off. @Brym: From your statement, you were deuactivated both times around 2am - plus or minus. There's a pattern emerging, surely. what everyone can do when next they want to try the bundle is that you send the activation SMS anytime from 12 midnight. That'll give you a window of roughly 12-12. Then see if you don't get your 50mb. If you cant request around midnight, do it as soon as you wake up in the morning.

@oluy: its the deceptive advertizing that annoys me. If i decide to activate at 10pm to use the supposed 24hrs till the next day, im screwed! It reminds me of glo's limited unlimited access. Rather than elude to 24hrs or 1 day access, they should have gone for something like midnight to midnight. I know, it doesnt sound "sexy" but that's why they have thier PR and branding staff for.
