Nothing will be lost, unless the flashing goes absolutely wrong and a complete reflashing is needed
A normal flash from SEUS just updates the firmware, it does not remove any data or settings on the phone.

Hey, I've got this problem too. In the end I've decided to just disrupt the connection and my phone now ends up at SE...Phone can't be switch on!!! Have to wait for 4 days, so I've ask the SE people to update for me.

used australia, although it shouldn't matter. i THINK it has something to do w/ timezone difference..i tried at 30 minutes past midnight this morning and it did not work..not sure though
