Sorry, I should have made it clear that I spoke to O2 directly but when I said I am a CPW customer they wouldn't touch my case and referred me back to O2 CPW. Service provider rather than network, you see.

I was polite but firm, and he was coolly hostile, and clearly had no intention of offering any kind of deal that would have actually benefitted me.

See if they'd do that with me, I wouldnt even let them refer me. I missed a payment 2 months ago and it was O2 who wanted to restricted my phone not CPW, they were the ones that wanted paying, worst comes to worse I'll just allow it to go unpaid again, when they ring me I'll tell them it only gets paid if I get put through to the right department, i'm a stubborn sod.

I would actually go with orange if it wasnt for the branding on the phones.

Phoned O2 today they've offered me 500 xnet anytime mins and 500 texts for £29 pm 12 month contract plus the K800i for free. What are your opinions on this deal?

ps i've been with them 1 year.

not bad, thats certainly better than the the usual online 200 for the same monthly price. i bet if you battled a bit harder you could have got 3 months free though. but hey after being with them only a year you cant complain.

Just a reminder to people trying to get free line rental for x amount of months, dont accept one of these cash back schemes where you have to send your 4th 8th and 12 bills back, they rely on you forgetting.

Brady , Ive been offered 500 mins and 500 texts for £20 a month (no phone), so you are getting the K800i for £9 extra a month (£108 in total) .Which aint too bad as I am being charged 179.99 upgrade price for the phone ! Can I ask what was your monthly spend is at the moment ?

My contract with Vodafone runs out in the next week and I'm looking to get a k800i, does anyone know if these bargaining tactics also work with vodafone or am I just better off getting a new contract on O2 through the e2save website..?

No harm in trying.... but you do get so much more with O2 compared to other networks.

Monthly spend just now is £42 per month. I've got a reference number for the deal i was offered and they have it in my account notes for when i phone back, but it isn't set in stone yet as i said i like to see what other companies where offering first, so i might haggle a bit more for either some free line rental, cheaper line rental or a data bundle.

When i phoned up the O2 guy asked what i had already been offered elsewhere, but i said i'd like to hear what he was offering first but that all the other service providers offered me the phone for free. It worked a treat.
