unfortunately that seems to contracdict the article I linked to, and the discussion linked from there, and other discussions I have found regarding this issue.
certainly after a couple of hours use my unit seems to not be afflicted with this problem so I am happy that whichever way, the issue is resolved

Just been speaking to my source in Taiwan, and they saying the HT630 are actually reworked versions as in they have been repaired for the realignment.

@masseur I know it does, just been readin in xda forum and it seems that some guy tested 4 different HT630 and they all have the issue. So I think this serial number issue is absolute nonsense.

time will tell then I guess.
I've been fevourishly reading around since I saw that article, not that it stopped me ordering one mind you

and I know HTC have a good setup in UK if it really comes to that
anyway, its good you mentioned this, its something I probably should have done when I saw it but I figured I'd wait until I got my unit to suss it out

After a month or so with the M600 I'd forgotten how much I really like WM5!
anyway, as a tip for new users, go to start, settings, connections, bean and uncheck it.
you almost certainly wont be using IR all the time and this will save you some battery power by turning it off since it wont be hunting for devices
for some reason it is on by default (always has been since the first pocketpc devices) and you can easily turn it on when/if you really need to do some IR transfers

and thats exactly why I head there first off in my setup of a WM device and turn it OFF!
