@Masseur,
This is what I meant. I called SE the day I got my phone and it would talk to my Mac via USB Mass Storage. They told me that Windows supports it natively with the drivers internal to Windows but for the most part it only supports various OS with native drivers. The M600i does not support it natively. The White Paper is correct in that the M600i is supported in Windows but only because Windows contain the drivers. If there were no drivers within Windows, the M600i would not be recognized.

Well, to add some interest to the debate, If I put my M600 into File transfer mode, and plug it into my either of my Macs (one is 10.4 Tiger, the other is 10.5 Leopard) both are instantly recognised as Mass Storage devices. Thats without any SE software etc installed.

Interesting. I have tried this many times with the newest software and it does not work. I have tried the File Transfer mode and this too does not work. Are you using any special version of Mac OS X. I am using 10.4.7. I have contacted SE about this and they say that it will not work with Mac OS. Also, I have a friend and he has the same problem as I. You are the 1 in a million case.

Linux reecognize it also as a mass storage device... although the speed is pretty low: ~12KBps (while on the same laptop on windows the speed is ~300+KBps)... Damn, what did they do wrong? I don't think it's the driver, since I used other mass storage gadgets, and there were now problems.

I run the developer version of 10.5, and I have both the std 10.4.7 on both a PPC and a intel mac.
All seem fine, you do have to ensure it is on the file transfer mode before attaching it to computer.

Strange guys. I got nothing. It does not see it at all. I am going to go around the corner to the Mac shop and connect it just to see if it will work out.
p.s. What version F/W are you running on your M600i? Funny that SE says it will not connect.

The same as me. I wonder if re-installing Mac OS will work or if re-flashing the phone will work.
I have heard reports that it is hit and miss with Mac and the m600i, so I could do all of that and nothing will work.

More likey to be a USB hardware config issue with your mac, what model are you running, it could be the USB hardware vendour is slightly different, this has been an issue before one some mac Powerbook 15" (PBAL15) as they had bus powered USB posrts on some machines that would allow a bus powered HDD to power up, but not spin up, and it was all down to the exact vendor of the hardware used in the specific Powerbook.
To be honest it would be simpler for you to get a USB card reader and do it that way.

I have a PB 17incher. Anyway I can check the hardware but I do know that this curreny PB will not allow anything over a 40 gig hd to spin. It will power up the larger drives but not spin them. I can try getting a pc card and see if this works. I also plan to purchase a MacBook 17 in two weeks, so I can also wait for that.
