the reply button is right there at the bottom of the message. just hit the screen.

while some might disagree and don't like this, u have to use ur fingers a bit, touching the screen when needed.

Thumb! I rarely use the stylus but use a combination of keyboard, jogdial and thumb where I need to tap the screen. Most screen buttons/icons are massive so you dont have to be too precise and I do not have small thumbs. The only time I need to aim with greater precision is hitting the triangle start menu in bottom left corner.

Personally I always liked the flip on. This way it is easy for single handed operation.

Hi

First posting, so go easy

Can anyone say what the difference in weight, and depth, is between Flip On/Flip Off?

Really love the 600i, but extra features of 990i appealing - can't make up mind between the two

P990i is much lighter without the flip and looks much better. With the flip on it felt much bigger and bulkier in my pocket.

Thanks Peter (Lancashire - THE Peter Kay?) Edit: OK Looked at your profile

Looked briefly at the 990i on a display, and really didn't like the Flip at all. Far too bulky, hence was drwn towards the 600i, but having a 2 meg cam, FM Radio, MP3 Player AND WI-FI all in the one package is too hard to resist

As this will be my first mobile phone (really!) tbh having the Flip Off will probably make no difference to me at all

Yeah, took flip off the first day i got mine, used for a few days put back on then used for a few days, its far better with it off in my opinion. The keypad really does add some bulk to it, without the flip it just feels like any other phone in my pocket

when i first set my hand on the unit, i immediately removed the flip and just sat on the store for full five minutes marvelling at its beauty. what a dork huh? well anyway, after a week of usage, i grew tired of using the QWERTY and tapping the screen everytime i need to compose, send and reply to an sms. and since the martin fields protector hasnt been installed yet, (shipping out tomorrow: just placed my order online), i am kinda scared of scratching the screen too so i had to put the flip back on. SMS sending is more convenient this way IMHO. And somehow, with the flip on, there is like a distinction between the phone mode and the PDA mode.
For me, if i want an easier life, since i text heavily... i use it with the flip on.
But if i just want to show off, without flip, as it reveals the beauty of the phone.
Thats my take on it.

Nah Jas, I'm 55, and still do it with laptops, DVD Recorders, Cars - Have been using qwerty keyboards since the days of the old Bash 'em Hard Manual typewriters, and have enough trouble entering contacts in the DECT home phone using three letters to the key so will be no problem to me to use the keyboard

Great board this:)
