I think it's the Esato website itself who RATES the images uploaded in the Photo Section

yup, I agree . . . your upload was compared with those taken from a digicam and an Auto-Focus

I think the whole 'non A/F phones suck' argument has been defeated. With a little care and favourable lighting conditions (which are necessary even for professional photographers) any

cameraphone of 2.0Mp can produce decent photos!

No it's not. Most Nokia and Samsung non AF cameras are far better. The only reason these pics appeal to people is because you are a good photographer. But the image quality itself is very blurry and almost all details vanish in a blur. Especially when you view the full size pics.

You seem to forget that AF means autofocus. Details vanishing in a big blurs isn't caused by the lack of AF, it's caused by a crappy lens combined with too much compression and a bad sensor.

You're pics would've been awesome if they were taken by a K-series phone or a real digicam.

I have Nokia and Samsung non AF camera phones to compare to; a 6234 and a Z400v respectively. I've done a direct comparison of different shots with all three and a Moto V3x borrowed from a mate. I also took comparison shot with a $15 disposable film camera, though I haven't had these developed yet.

All the photos from the V3x were very blurry and useless. The phone had lots of scratches so maybe it had been dropped and damaged the lens or sensor - I don't know.

The Z400v takes landscape style photos with the screen in portrait mode which is EXTRMELY disconcerting and leads to being to far away from the subject, therefore losing the detail. When viewing the pics on the Samsung's ultra bright but harsh contrast screen, all the dark colours look black. I find this difficult on the eyes.

The Nokia takes great photos, full stop! However so does the

V630i in my untrained eyes. The handicap for the Nokia 6234 is not the camera so much as the UI and the tiny, unreadable font. This make adjusting settings difficult and time comsuming and I just don't bother.

The

produces good to fantastic photos for it's specs depending on the efforts of the photographer. Maybe you can get better results with other brands but I can't. With the praise I have recieved for my V630i photos, I wonder - what more than you ask of a convergence device than to 'punch above it's weight'?

Edit: I have acess to a Sony DVD Handycam with 1 Mp still camera built in. Unfortunately it won't take still shot without a MSDP card so when I eventually get one I'll compare that too. I find

's UI easier than Sony's though!
