A BIG thanks to mysh.
i tried encoding finalfantasy last night. running with my 2Ghz PC with 256ram with smaller file option the encoding stretch for almost an hour. Is this the usual encoding time. i am sure i am just missing something in the options...will appreicate some guidance. thanks to your help.

M3 takes a bit longer to encode than other solutions do (at least until mysh adds in multiple CPU core support anyway), but the resulting video quality is absolutely amazing. Thus, it's a trade off that I can most certainly live with.

I too dont have any problem with conversion time because M3 in a way introduced a new feature of P990, that's good its output quality is.

Hi Tan, an hour for a 1.5 hour movie isn't too bad as conversion times go. M3 will also see some speed improvements around version 0.90.
Having only 256MB of ram may cause slower conversions for you. I optimised ram usage back in version 0.86, but M3 still requires around 50MB. I'd suggest you close any un-needed programs to improve speed a little, or consider adding another 256MB to your computer. Any work with video or image content requires a bit more RAM than most common computer tasks.

Great work Mysh - I've just watched an episode of 'Father Ted' on my P990i. I just need to buy a 4GB MS now!

brilliant stuff thank you

watching perfect quality versions of Blackadder on my way to work now hehe
One question though: the high quality preset works perfect for me but when I tried the "smaller size" option I ended up with a much smaller file with audio and no video (both on PC and on my k800). Is there some codec or something I should have downloaded?

Thanks @ mysh.
Probably i'll get additional memory to asssist and cut down some time in encoding.
How about sub-title, how to include subtitle in the movie. i have also n70 and with Smartmovie the subtitile is automatically included. How can i get the subtitle on?
Thanks for being very supportive mysh. Thanks for the gr8 software!

@Tant
When you load a DVD movie for example there is an option for subtitle. Just mark it and that's it. Works like a charm.
I'm telling you, M3 in a way introduced a new feature of P990, that much enjoyable watching movies on it is.
