My headset, bought from a UK seller, seemed OK when I bought it. So I left positive feedback, silly really because I'd not actually used it.
Now I've tried to use I'm beginning to think it's a fake.
I either have to re-pair or turn the phone off and on the get the music to transfer.
The only time I tried an incomming call with the headset playing it froze (and still is frozen) and I can't switch it off.
I've looked at the pictures and to be honest the diferences aren't really that obvious on my headset. The giveaway appears to me to be the storage case. The real ones have symbols and date indicators moulded into them. The fake one (in the picture) doesn't - mine doesn't (
I've e-mailed the seller and pointed out that the headset may be a fake. As yet I haven't had a reply. I'll wait a little longer and then post a follow up feedback comment and then contact E-Bay & PayPal.
Not sure how to go about making certain that the headset is fake, other than taking it to a Sony Ericcson service centre, and I don't know where the nearest one is.
p.s. this is the one I bought - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]m=&item=300074738662&rd=1&rd=1

As far as I could observe, the fake ones come with only ONE pair of extra rubber earbuds. The originals come with 2.

It's quite possible that some of the fakes also come with 2...

I've reset mine and tried an incomming call again. Pressing the call button has no effect. Tried again and headset locked up.
My M600i phone is Orange branded. Shouldn't be an issue, but................

I recieved one from seller "ioak"...It is 100% genuine...Bass is excellent....Functionality is perfect (had for 4 days now and have been using it almost every minute of the day) .....Took a little time to recieve in the mail(a little over a month) - but the seller did resend priority post and took 6 days to recieve as promised....

If you're going to order from ebay AND from Hong Kong....I recommend him to ensure you are getting 100% genuine....

My feedback is provide on ebay to him aswell...

Cheers and thanks for the heads up on the other sellers...You guys saved me a headache....

hello
it is really sad that my first post had to be in this thread, i usually only read the threads and learn from them. The thing is i bougth myself a headset a couple of weeks ago but haven't received it yet. anyways i think it is a fake coz i got it from mlaccessories and someone else mentioned they got a fake from the same seller

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150083249068

However i wanted some of the experts to confirm an assumption i am making. i believe the REAL package comes with the LCD on the left of the earbuds where as the FAKE package has the LCD on the right of the earbuds again i am not 100% sure about this coz i don't have one yet(neither real nor fake) but i am posting some pictures from the supposed good seller ioak(TOP PICTURE) and from my presumed fake seller mlaccessories(BOTTON PICTURE)

pls confirm.... coz i am not so sure if the actual plastic cover can move around either way, again coz i don't have my fake yet hehehe yip it is better to laugh than to cry i guess i will leave bad comments and follow your recomendations on not buying any accessories from HK (sad since i lived ther for 2 years, andi love it)

cheers and thank u all

thanx esato
