> New firmware for the W950i

I didn't have a sim-lock or brand on my W950i. And the volume of the music in the Walkman player and Radio is great! If it would be any louder my ears would hurt! I can hear the Bass pumping really good when listening to House music. I am used to my old W800i but the music on my new W950i has sounds much better. The W950i can handle the Bass tunes much better than my W800i.. And it sounds much better than my brothers IPOD.. Conclusion:
My W950i Sounds PERFECT!!

Firmware is:
R1B01
R9C001
R3A01
R1a08
W950i-W800i Speakers are about the same volume
W950i-W800i Earphones W800i is about 10% louder, But the W950i sounds a bit better. Sounds are more real. Both with my W950i headset.
I can't compare it with the IPOD.. My Brother is not here right now..

Recently invested in DS970's and whilst not as good as my Ultimate Ears they give great quality sound. The max volume is not as loud as an iPod but I have only come across one instance where IU was disappointed it couldn't go louder - all in all a great combo phone - it replaces my iPod, Tungsten T3 and my old phone. Down from 3 gadgets in pockets to just one, no complaints from me.
Just tried SEUS and no update available - any ideas when the update will be available for a phone on O2 with the above firmware profile?

now how to update using SEUS since the SEUS does not work while updating this phone i can update other phones but not this one. The SEUS goes back to the mainpage after detection process. I guess with this phone everything is wrong, SE could not do anything right to this phone. Feel like abusing SE when i feel i have paid 650$ for this one, would have got a ipod of 99$ and would have been more satisfied and happy, SE guys you cant make phones, better make bangles.

I can confirm that the EU firmware does indeed limit the volume in some way. I have flashed my own personal W950i with the newest version of software available which is a trade Taiwanese version and the volume has indeed been increased.
We are currently working on how this is managed, by identifying the differences between the Taiwan FW and the EU FW.
If we can come up with a solution we will release this to you guys.

i live in the US but the phone came from Hong Kong...the phone came with firmware R9C001 and i can attest that the volume can get pretty loud, not as loud as my iPod Nano but you should never even listen to anything that loud, it's just too loud and you hear ringing in your ears after listening...sound quality is excellent with the included headset, i'd say on par it not better than my iPod...more bass, better staging, and seperation

Now we know that the asian FW is the loud one for sure..

It is possible I guess to have english in the phone even with an asian FW.
What about Greek?
An other disadvantages because of the asian FW?

if we install that taiwan version will there be a problem with the phone..i mean why does SE remove so many CDA's ??
I guess u must have heard the sound of w810 or w700 its so rich and loud, can we same have it in our w950i ? being a symbian and most advance Walkman phone we expected something really nice in terms of its mp3 player.
