Evening Folks, first time post.

Have read this, and several other threads on the topic of dead K800s

My problem seems to be pretty much the same as others, in that:

* Phone is Non Responsive when trying to switch on
* Phone will not charge
* When trying to switch phone one, IR port flashes 6 times. This can also happen when inserting the battery
* The battery charges and operates ok in another K800 I have access too

I have tried to use SEUS and Wotan to flash the phone, however despite trying the various button and sequence permutations suggested in this thread - I cannot get the phone to register with the CPU at all.
I've tried this on two different PC's using two different data cables.
I've fully charged the battery, and attempted to connect having left the battery out for nearly 24 hours.

Frankly I'm at a lost and could do with some sound advices!
With thanks in advance
Captain Kerthorse

Folks, try to recharge your batt on other phone (other working phone that have similar batt will do) or borrow 100% charged batt. If the batt is too low and can't be recharge by the phone then phone WILL NOT be recognised by any means.

It is my understanding that the USB cable will NOT power the phone when you try to update firmware/EROM. So you should have close to 100% (ideally) batt level. Read again from the start of the threads, it should have all info.

There are some phone that can't be recognised and if you have try all techniques written before then your phone MAY (not sure) have faulty hardware and no software can fix it. Bring it to service centre.

Just exactly what causes the phone to crash and die sirs?

I've been uploading cam/acoustic drivers posted by some good samaritans anywhere in this site but i never have had encountered a problem thus far.

What if i commit mistakes in the process, will it kill the phone?

Have no idea what cause it. But most of the problem come with R3A011 EROM and it usually happen when you run out of batt power when phone is on, or changing SIM card. Both is the failure of boot up (red LED flahing or WSOD).

I may speculate that it may because the phone is not properly shut down before (like opening the batt too soon when changing SIM card?). However SE never admit the problem and when you claim the warranty when it happen usually they just give you new phone. Problem is if you don't have warranty (e-bay, import, grey market, etc).

EROM is like BIOS and seems R3A011 has fatal bugs. Maybe even R3A016 has some bugs because they upgrade it to R3A022. Unfortunately no one appear to offer R3A022 (MAYBE not backward compatible or SE change some hardware so needs different EROM?, who knows).

Edit : As long as your computer and phone batt is not dead in the middle of transfer/firmware upgrade then you should be fine. Just make sure you give enough time for the phone to shutdown properly.

I'm having exactly the same trouble.
LED lights flashing, dead k800i, downloaded wotan but always get message that it's failed, and won't let me delete usenrmae and password in corner before it starts. Have no idea what to do next.

Right, managed to get past that stage, seems patience is the key with waiting for the server.

Now I get to the 'Connect your phone pressing 'c'' bit, and I've tried both 'c' and '2+5 simultaneously', and neither works, it just says it's waiting.

Any suggestions?
