I love Opera Mini. I do wonder how they make money though. I understand all Opera Mini traffic goes through their server to get compressed. They must have bandwidth bills, yet Opera Mini is provided free with no advertising?

I think it's just a brand thing, the PC Opera is after all free too, obviously there's no pre processing in that requiring bandwidth though.

well opera receives licensing fees for manufacturers to build the browser into their phones, e.g., SE in its UIQ lineup. also windows mobile users have to purchase the opera browser.
but if i understand correctly, whenever a user does a search in an opera browser's built-in search field, whether google or yahoo, they get paid by the respective search engine. i'm nt 100% sure on this, but that is the impression i got from something i read recently.
so if you want to pay back opera for all the great stuff it gives us for free, then keep using the search box in the browser.

the application opera mini/dimension beta are free - the data traffic obviously isn't! Opera mobile is free/built-in for example p990 or nokia 6680 (it's not built into it but you're entitled to free copy!)...for other handsets you have to buy opera mobile. /but hey, mini is free and good enough!
@bosshogg - yeah, you're on to sth, w810, although displaying "(5...) in entry field with high-memory version of dimension doesn't go beyond 450-ish...hadn't properly dried it - my bad!
cookie handling still iffy (despite my earlier success, next time on a few sites incl esato it was on/off-ish... But it's one of the thinks their working on)

Guys, please give your feedback on
this page . Open this with operamini 4 beta. Your settings should be-
Load images- yes
Fit to width- no
Higher image quality- yes
Visual effect- yes
Now move the mouse over those pictures in zoom mode. How much time do you take to see the first two photos of s500. And how easy to move it over full page. unlimited data planers only try those.
