Actually the bugs are probably neither Symbian or UIQ but most likely what SE has added on top of these.

Well, at least we seem to agree they are software buggs. The rest is left for interpretation.

@cokeman
Wifi works fine here. My router is set up with shared wep, and my p1 connects and uses internet through it without any problem. You might want to try and resolve an ip to some site and surf to the ip instead of the address to sort out if the problem is with your dns server or with something else.

Yes...But the results is that the P1 & P990 bugs are software related and the amount of RAM is not the problem here. So how should we interpret the same bugs that are in both the P1 and the P990?
Having some extensive experience with the P990 bugs, I suggest that you report the P1 bugs to the SE support via email and get a case number for it. That seems to be the only way to get SE to include a fix for them in a new fw.

I am sure, some of SE developers are looking to these pages sometimes. Not only these but other well-known (including their own developer's) SE-related websites. As far as i know, ESATO is the most known SE-related place. Would that be good if moderators will make the sticky non-posting topic with only list of confirmed bugs with updating after confirmation? That might make it more readable for someone from SE to get closer to the problems we are having. I am planning to do the same for W960i when it's released.

Got my P1i a few hours ago:

1. The problem of static noise in speaker mode is also present as in the P990 with the R6 firmware. Happens randomly.

I'm wondering if this is the same effect you get on office phones when you have speakerphone on....

Actually it is not static; I have struggled to describe it. Its more that the sound is distorted and incomprehensible.

Here is how it happens: Dial a number, click on Speaker. At least 50% of the time the sound of the phone ringing or the voice of the person on the other end of the call is distorted.

Do not believe it is a hardware issue because:

1. 50% of the time the sound is just fine. If you turn the speaker off and back on, the sound is fine.
2. Started happening on the P990 only after I updated to firmware R6; never happened before that.

This happens very consistently and have reported the problem to SE.

@suland, such a list for the P990 is already on http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/R6D23 and SE has confirmed they are reading it. Since most of the bugs are also valid for the P1, SE would try to fix them. The question is can they?
I know I sound pessimistic but after a 10+ month experience with the P990 and SE's incompetence and arrogance, I have really lost faith in SE.

You know, I don't have bad times with mine w950i and did not have it with p990i. Phones are great! Yes, some little glitches...But all over they do really good. And yes, it would be great to make them 100%!!!

I've my fair share of WLAN connectivity problems too...

However, they mostly center around dropped connections, when I try to connect it's usually successful. Usually, because sometimes it decides to acts up and complains of "Connection failed" or "No connection" no many how many times you tap on the Connect or Scan button! Although such cases are not a lot, the fact that I'm seeing these errors and not on the P990i I had a while back says something about the WLAN connectivity of the P1i. Also, it seems to me that its WLAN signals are a tad weaker: I'm getting dead signals around parts of my room whereas the P990 still reports a weak signal.

@DubaiSY, in my brief encounters with the speakerphone mode, I didn't hear any distortion in the other caller. Let's hope this doesn't show up with continued usage...

@qaz7d0, can you post a picture of the FM screen? Apparently it looks better than on P990.

Just Another Mobile Phone Blog got pictures off a Chinese website:

Does the W-lan works fine on ur phones?
Had any difficulties with it?

I cant manage mine to work. Not on a open b network or on my own WPA-Personal secured network with g/b mode on or even if I change my router to b-mode its still the same.

I do get a connection but I cant use it to anything. Not RSS feeds and not Web browser.

In the web browser I can connect to my Router setup page http://192.168.0.1 but if I try any http://www.whatever.com site it just loads and loads but no data transfer is going on.

I read some P990 wlan problem threads and tried some things there but nothing works at all...

Try toggling your Power Save On/Off. not sure why, but it solved my WLAN problem.
