I reckon that dust is getting in through the back cover and not the glass. Otherwise you'd see dust on more than the lens/shutter opening. Really bad form SE. Surely they would have picked this up in pilot phase.

There is a gasket in the phone between the battery compartment and the camera housing. So i don't think the dust is getting in there.

Well I got a brand new K850i sent to me by o2 to replace the dusty one. I put it on an eBay and got a stonking £270 for it!

I then bought a PAYG K810i for £99.

Problem solved!

I'm having the same problem as many others except I have about 100 specks of dust, nevermind 3! I'm going to go and get an exchange now if I can.

After three days my 3rd K850 is not getting dust behind the lens cover. And I've been especially careful not to expose it to dusty places.

This really is not very good for their top of the range camera phone.

Is the dust really that much of a problem?
I got all sorts of funghi growing under my k750 lens but it doesnt affect image quality at all.

why should they wait a few months if they already have bought the phone?

I'm on O2 in the UK. I have a lot of dust under the glass lens cover. I'm outside the 28 days (but not by a lot). Where do I stand with getting it sorted out or getting a replacement? Is it really worth trying to get a replacement if I was able to? I have no other real problems with the phone at all apart from this.

the dust IS NOT A PIC QUALITY ISSUE....its just anoying.....(it will not make the pics worse..maybe if you have a lot of dust of course, but if you only have some super small dots..it dosent make any different.
