@Carkitter

You defense of SE is the same as SE that also still believes they are a premium brand offering premium products and innovative products which unfortunately they are not.

Of course i get my facts from SE re sales and profits but as you yourself pointed out it is illegal for them to report misleading or incorrect information. Unlike the PR BS you swallow that claim all the above points i mention.

Really you need to ask yourself why so many hold the opposite opinion to you and just don't buy all the SE PR BS and see straight through it. Yet you seem happy to not only swallow it hook line and sinker but defend it as fact.

If SE are just half as brilliant as you SE and their PR department think they are just why are they in such a mess then?

Why have their sales and profits dropped so badly?

Why are so many once loyal SE fans so dissatisfied that they no longer buy SE?

If SE's products are just so brilliant and great why are so few buying them then?

The answer to all the above is easy just take of those rose tinted glasses and join the real world a place both you and SE don't seem to be in.

Boinng touched on it but just to clarify it, i have been involved in Mobiles and then Mobile Data since pre launch of the networks in the UK. Initially i used Motorola equipment as they were they main player at launch. Later on when i found Ericsson i moved to them and then SE right up till 2006 and my POS not fit for purpose on launch M600. Only then was i forced to look else where for a device and found Nokia and S60. I'm still waiting since then for SE to deliver a device that fits my needs. That is why myself and many others no longer use SE because they don't give us a choice to use one.

All of that is putting aside how badly SE treated the early adopters of UIQ3 and how they shafted them and since then all the yet again not fit for purpose releases SE continue to make. Just how do you expect any of us to continue to support a company that teats it's users so badly? How can you be surprised that so many now use a N82 after what has happened with the K850 that still after 10 months isn't fixed. Sorry but currently SE are pathetic and deserve all they get for their arrogance and the contempt with which they treat their once loyal users. Unless and until they change they will continue to linger where they belong bottom of the pile and one flagship Camera phone and the X1 won't save them either. If that is what SE or you believe they really are doomed and deserve it.

Marc

I think the biggest problem with SE is that they over value their phones. There was a time when people were willing to pay a premium for SE phones but then the SEs were as good or better than the competition. Now SEs phones are released at high prices and don't have the specs to warrant the price. If they lowered their prices people at least wouldn't view them as being overpriced and SE would be able to keep a good market share till they are ready to regain their position as a leader of the market.

They don't even have to lower their prices, let the specs, quality and innovation match the price. Like you pointed out, they were expensive back then because they were high up there in technology, innovation and quality.

Now, simply put, they are crap! Couple that with their disregard of their consumers/fans you get to understand and see why they are in such a mess.

Serves them right.

I know and you know that you dont know what any of that means. And if its such a big issue, why do you have a SE?
