@etaab ... mine does the unlock delay thing but only when I have autolock

There's only one firmware as far as I'm aware; and I have R1BB041 too.

Another problem that I've found is the auto lock (not keylock but a lock where you enter your PIN).

This was enabled with a 4 digit PIN, then set to autolock after 60 minutes.

Doing so was a nightmare, it would become totally unresponsive at times and you'd have to press the red key, keylock slide and anything to wake it up - and if the brightness isn't 100% then you can't even tell when it's locked or unlocked (the only way to tell if it's locked, as against keylocked).

Anyway, I turned it off - but the phone still asks for the lock code when I switch on. I can't turn it off now at all.

I wonder if this is what's causing my crashing problem?

Believe me, there are loads of bugs and if you aren't experiencing them then STOP: Don't change anything. Don't go fiddling with the settings menu; it contains things that no man should meddle with.

@jmcomms .... autolock - ain't that a joy There are 2 locations for codes ....

settings> phone> phone management> auto. keylock
settings> phone> phone management> security> phone and sim card>

The second one has "PIN" code - that's the startup one .... and bizarrely
there's another phone auotlock option !!

Im not sure if my Satio would have this same issue as i never use a PIN to unlock the phone or power it up. going on what other problems i have regarding its performance i doubt it would however.

Back to firmware, i think anyone with a dodgy Satio is down to a faulty batch of phones and not the firmware, otherwise it would be a much more widespread problem if all Satio phones have the same firmware.

I already did an update the Aino a week or so ago! This must be a bit more significant then.

I really think the Aino is better than the Satio (or has the potential to be) as long as you're happy with it as it comes. Mind you, for a decent all-round experience I'd also rate the W995.

SE has had its problems this year, but they've also done some pretty good things too. The W995 with its recent update that added Facebook (and some variants also have Twitter support) shows what happens when SE doesn't mess up the hardware or firmware!

I preffer the SE proprietary OS of the Aino over S60v5 BUT the poor screen resolution of the Aino is a big negative.
The Satio has a delightfull screen!

The only 2 bugs that are really annoying in Satio for me are:
-Theme stanby style bug.
-Ringtones desynchronised of 3 secs with the reception of a call

without any issues (i install them to the phone not the card btw)
