I'm with Pally and Saltorio ....

So, let me get this straight.

The hardware for the X10a supports AT&T 3G bands, so flashing the firmware to a x10i UK firmware doesn't remove this ability? are there any drawbacks to using a x10i firmware instead of the x10a firmware on an x10a device if the 3G bands (which I believe is the only difference) remain unaffected?

EDIT: According to users on XDA forums, they flashed their X10a with X10i firmware and have had no issues with 3G and state that it still works flawlessly. Link here

Oh yeah, do you realise that PC Companion is on the SD card?

Just connect your phone to the PC via USB, and select 'mount' on the phone when prompted, and select 'install' (SE icon) from the SD card folder via 'My Computer.'

Generic HK downloaded, will upload after school.

Generic UK has all languages in it.

Look on Google for showing hidden and system folders

Do u mean Generic UK has all the things that Generic HK has?

i can confirm the generic UK firmware includes traditional and simplified chinese. and the 3g band remains intact for the X10a. you just have to enter the APN setting for ur respective carrier again. what i've noticed over the roger branded FW is obviously the branding is gone. but most importantly the keyboard is 100x more responsive.. it feels good to type on the phone again.. compared to when i was using the rogers FW.

After using the 1.0.16 rom, I can say that it is far superior to 1.0.14. However, I am lacking the chinese handwriting input (cootek 1.01). Is there any way to extract that?

Thanks

So i debranded my x10a to the x10i with the SEUS tutorial u had previously lolly, is there any way for me to revert the changes and go back to the x10a firmware/files?

I did make a back up of the original 2 files that i had initially...
Using PC Companion i can't even get past the 3rd step (update), i just get some download error saying unable to download the phone software.

@159159 why do you want to revert back to your branded firmware?
