This, but I saw from another user. Nobody would bother to make looks like from official paper just to express wish.

no way person would know date of announcement or even japanese carrier release if this was just wishlist. And nobody would wish periscope to be 105mm again when current is 125mm.
While ago , Zach said on weibo exactly some of these stuff, like 48/12/12MP, 5000mAh/45W

seems very real to me.

Dont know if benchmark is real. That would be SD782 (778++) .

Judging the supposed spec list I saw yesterday (looks like real from certification or something like that) , I wonder how phone would be cheaper than 1 iv. It will be very disappointing if periscope is really same of mark 3. 😰

So I saw this on reddit, will leave my thoughts here as well.

I tried searching for the listing on Geekbench website, and I found nothing, nothing remotely that could be this. I searched for Sony, Sony PA23, PA23. I tried the CPU, SM7325-AF, nothing. Next I tried the motherboard, lahaina, again no result that would match this. I am on desktop, searching using the website, perhaps the app would provide different results? No idea.

Finally I decided to search the latest benchmarks and went looking via the date, December 30th, 11:50 am and no results either.

Next issue is, why post the benchmark, but not included the actual single and multi-core benchmark results in the screenshot? Rather odd. I know they took a screenshot of the result, but they could have taken another just showing the results.

Now could this be faked? Yup, pretty easily in any graphics program. But is it fake? or was the benchmark taken down? Can users delete their own benchmark off the site? Anyone know?

Perhaps they found a better AI super resolution zoom/ invented which can zoom better?? ( just guessing). Anyway hope the zoom can go all the way useful and with real proper focusing including the digital zoom.

Another interesting part. 1500nits with LTPO! Also with the new LPDDR5X ram and UFS4.0 plus snapdragon8 Gen 2 it's gonna be damn power house and energy efficient with proper heat control!

that's mostly inline with my observation except 2G was still live as of last week while LTE seemed dead. the same Xperia phone was doing VoLTE and LTE just fine before 2022, but only getting spotty 2G (too many old phones competing?) last week even if I tried to force it to LTE. Moto 5G phone was running on 5G with strong signal and handled calls & data just fine. I expect a location with good 5G to not have poor 2G/4G if everything else is equal

Mark 4 can for example record 4K at any range. 86, 88, 91, 93,96,100,102,104,108,111,112,115,117,119,122,123,125.
Mark 3 cannot. Only at 70 and 105.

Digital zoom is useless.

The cam part also says: "night mode", interval, "starry sky (probably astro photo)", timelapse, 14bit raw.

These specs seam very plausible. Could be the real thing. I'm glad they are going back to gen III focal lengths for the telephoto because of portrait shots. I kind of expected more of a variable spread beyond 40mm but I guess they still didn't solve softness issues altogether.

Problem is if the periscope is 2 stages again instead of all FL. That is gonna be even worse than removing from 5iv. If space is issue, then make phone larger. Remove ToF, no one notices AF performance difference between 1 and 5 anyway. Using imx557 for super wide is waste of time, zoom is surely more used.
The imx650 is 1/1.7" , what's point of using much smaller 663 and making FL shorter?

85-100mm is best for portrait. 70mm is not that much.

That's not entirely true. Portraits can be shot at any focal length.

However, the most flattering focal lengths are 85mm and beyond. The reason is perspective, but that is true for full frame. In a phone, even a long telephoto lens is still a wide or super wide with a major crop factor, hence geometry is different.

Periscope needs to be 70-200mm with all range, not dual FL like iii. Reducing the sensor size while reducing the reach? That is pathetic.
Oppo is gonna use 1/1.56" for periscope.

Since LG Innotek seems to be involved in the construction of the 2 xperia periscopes, let's hope their new 4-9x shows up in the future. That would result in 96-216mm.
