I'm not quite fond of the design (obviously T68 era is over). And it seems like déjà-vu. Besides the shiny black for the top part of the phone will be full of finger prints... And will be very sensitive to scratches obviously. Anyway, if you have those tacky italian shoes (shiny black and white), you should get one of these

Looks apart, it seems like quite a good phone!

Though, judging from SE's last comment that they were slightly gaining market share due to T100 (the lowest end phone), I'm somewhat skeptical as to T610 or T310 will help SE... Public will tell.

Don't really like the design all that much myself… To me the t68i is much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I don’t see that many needed improvements over the t68i to warrant the purchase. All the screen shots look very similar to the t68i other than the bigger screen. Cheers… Roger

I like the T610-design Better then the New Nokia's, they are like toys.
The T300, T310 and T100 are still ugly phones. Like the T65 was. Give the T300 a nice design and it is a HIT. SE noticed that, so they replace the T300 with the T310 very quick, but the design is not much better

(I like the T610, but at first sight the arrange of the icons seems wierd.)

My SE Design Top 5:

1. T68i
2. T200
3. T610
4. T600
5. Z1010

Frankly I don't like the new look of the T610. It looks too much like the T300 which is way to plastic-like and looks and feels like some toy phone. The shape is too bulky making it boring and seem big. Not something that attracts new customers. This kind of phone is supposed to be classy, stylish and something that goes with a suit. Why else would James Bond choose to use the T68i in the movie?? Even though it is packed with features it is not the same kind of phone as the P800 where design isn't that important. If it was supposed to be the successor of the T68i they shouldn't have used more or less the same design as the T300. The T300 was never meant to be real classy but just a cheap phone for people who wanted to show off with a color screen.
Of course this is my opinion but looking at the market share of SE it is worth noticing that it only amounts to 6-7% on world basis which should have changed after introducing the T68, which can still compete with most new phones concerning features. Looking at the SE phones it is pretty clear that they are among the most feature packed and the battery life is also very good. The main problem must be the public opinion about the SE phones meaning that their design needs a lot of work. A lot of the people i've spoken with say that the main reason why they dislike some of the new SE phones (eg. T300) is because they are too plastic-like, cheap-looking and square-shaped making them look bigger. SE was on the right track with the T68 which still impresses most people. The P800 is a great phone/pda but design isn't that important for this kind of phone. SE should work on their image and if they can't come up with something new they should try to further develop the design of the T68. Consumers won't pay $4-500 for a cheap-looking phone. You don't pay $5000 for a B&O tv because of the picture quality!

@Grosen
Right on!
I can´t possibly imagine this phone getting popular based on its looks.. now if only they had chosen matte aluminum finish all over _maybe_ i would swallow it´s chocolate-bar look but high gloss black?! No way José! Looks cheap, and users will have to wipe grease stains off it constantly.
Too bad SE didn´t make a complete package, they need it badly..

i really like the minimalistic approach SE have taken to this phone, although although i still think the t300/100/200 are all ugly phones.
SE really need to create some classier designs, and also have some phones that are more "fashion" phones such as Nokia's 8310.

this is gonna be my next phone!
