suppose the alternative is to strip the new firmware from an upgraded t310 and self upgrade.

I dont know anything about a possible release of the r3b firmware for T300 - But what I can positively say for those that are still in doubt about the T310 r3b:

I have a T310 with r1b firmware and recently bought a T310 for my son, it came with the r3b firmware preinstalled, with calender and notes. Very nice. Gave me a chance to compare directly.

The mms templates are called the same but they are smaller in size on the r3b firmware (62kb) than on the r1b firmware (109kb), this way giving room for the calender/notes - and this r3b firmware actually still has a litle more free memory than the r1b firmware in my own T310 even with the calender/notes. Also Total memory on the r3b is 1059kb, total memory on the r1b is 1047kb. I have an appointment with the nearest SE supportcenter to update my own T310 to the newest firmware. Every SE supportcenter does this for FREE.

what is the production date on the back of your sons t310, on the imei sticker it should say 03wxx, xx = production week

and what is the production date on your own?

Hi,

I'm from Turkey.

Yesterday I went to an official Service Point of SE (TeleService), they refused to upgrade my T300 to R3B version, saying that R3B was only for T310's. Instead, they re-installed R100G version as they know it latest version for T300.

After that, I called SE Turkey Customer Support Center, asked the official latest SW version of T300, they replied again with "R100G is officially the latest SW version for T300".

We're probably gonna have to wait for SE to come out with a new FW dedicated for the T300, instead of trying to get them to admit that R3B for the T310 also works on the T300...
