Thought I'd check out the P900 update though but no go for me. Not that it makes no difference since no one really knows the diff anyway.
I can wait... I have a wife and two kids so I have learned mucho patience!

I dont remember if you can see e-mail in flipped closed mode before. Also if you have an appointment in your calender. Can you see al the appointment information (if its longer than three 10 caracters words) in flipped close.
Can anyone with the old fw check this?

Regarding calendar alarms: I just tested mine (162003/3 r2b02) again and it doesn't work until I open the calendar app.
Thanks to those who report theirs work ok; I'll try a firmware update even though there's no new firmware yet for my phone, maybe I have a glitch.

It's frustrating that there's still no release notes. Those that have upgraded their firmware to R3A06 through a vendor last week have not reported noticable changes. I'm beginning to think that this upgrade simply tweaked some bugs, but has not implemented new accessable features. I'm starting to feel like I can wait longer and longer for this update.

just to confirm that I could read email (and text messages) in flip closed mode a year ago on my P800 so there would be nothing new there. (but only in Inbox of course)
dunno about long char strings in calendar as I never really had them
seems like I too can wait for this update for whenever its available online. Def not worth a trip to the service centre
