None of the Swedish operators support edge. I know that Telia has plans to use edge as a complementary to UMTS in low-populated areas... but that's about it. AFAIK neither Denmark nor Norway has any operators which supports edge.
I don't think edge is that important. It will probably take 1-2 years before it will be widely available. It seems as most operators around here has higher priority on UMTS.

what are you talking about?? it's a japanese phone ....it's as simple as that.
next thing you guys are going say is that SE stole the t39 flip from those ancinet motorola turtle shaped analog phones.
wow this thing looks nice... but it's gonna be freakin huge, heavy and thick. besides the 1.3 and screen how does it beat a p800/900??

For low-populated areas telia is also looking at an Ericsson CDMA solution using the old NMT-400 frequencies as well. But all this
seem to stay at the "looking" stage. Before christmas TeliaSonera said
they did not know when EDGE would be introduced. It will definitively
not happen before 2005 anyway.
Not that I need EDGE either, but there are always a minority that does.

I've tried searching Swedens Telia, and havent found anything there about it being implemented in Sweden yet. It HAS however, been said that they will implement it in Finland first, and later in Sweden. Later being relative it seems.
However, the main point in all this is, who bleedin cares? Edge makes data transfers about 2.5 times faster than current GPRS standard, what is the big deal about that? Are you really going to notice if the picture you're sending takes 10 seconds or 5 seconds to send? Why on earth all this fuss about a technology which is going to be obsolete when 3G goes into effect?
The reason SE isnt pushing EDGE, is because they have a UMTS handset announced, which is impressive, something Nokia does not have.
You have been spreading FUD ever since I started visiting this board SuperG, and you still have no credibility. Why not just stick to other message forums and discuss the wonderful talking brick that is 9500, instead of annoying people in this forum.
