Well, I went out and bought the DSS-25 for 799sek. And the damn thing still doesnt upgrade, the error message is:

Your device is not permitted to use this service
Your operator does not approve the usage of this service for this device.

We look forward to assist you again soon.

Thank you for using Sony Ericsson Update Service!

I bought my phone on vodafone stores, but its not branded, and not sim locked as far as I know. This is telling me differantly though.

Stay calm Zulan. I know several people who have contacted SE about this update-service, and they say it's not the finished article yet. It's still in it's trial stages. They say sometimes it could work and sometimes don't. I know several people here in Norway who have tried and gotten the same message as you.

Paying 799 SEK for the DSS-25 seems to me as robbery. I ordered it from Ebay new and unused for 230 NKR or about 250SEK including p+p!

So If I running win 2000 with sp2 , does that means I can't upgrade the phone myself ? On the site, it claimed sp3 for win 2000 is required. So how can I upgrade my win2000 to sp3??? Anyone? Thanks !

you can download SP4 from either http://www.microsoft.com/wind[....]s/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp or http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Thanks man !!

So far, Bengalboy seem to be the only with success story.

So, nick111, please try to create all the previous bugs you have seen, and tell us how many have disappeared.

Thanks!

Umm, so I guess it depends on IMEI and customisation.

Where did you get your phone from?
