true i chose se then because of its "rarity" among the masses but i also failed to mention that i chose se over others of that time because of its technological offerings that freed me from my desk. i could access my personal email, corporate push e-mails and other stuff while being mobile and not carrying any other gear. i also chose that phone because of its PIM features and the ability of it to sync to p.c's and other similar devices thus freeing me from my pda. i just bought a couple of accessories to address some of its shortcomings and for entertrainment vocations.
i still have and am still using my t68i for all of the above mentioned. and am still glad that after all this time it is still a "rarity" among the nokia engrossed masses (that i lovingly refer to as sheep)

I chosed SE because I tried to use T310. It's my turning point. I had never used SE before, and when tried the T310, I started to think that SE phone was good. Then I tried to use T610, very poor STN display though, but was still a very nice phone, simple and classy design, with bluetooth. Then I tried Z600.. wow.. what a bright display! It was time that I started to fell in love with SE. Z600 is the one and only SE phone that I've still used over a year.
The rest phone was always replaced by a newer SE phones cause I couldn't help buying a new SE phone everytime they produced a new phone.
Now I use Z600, K700i, and S700i. I just love them esp. S700i, nica camera phone with very excellent display.
However, all what I posted above are actually only about impression.
The other reasons why I chosed SE is because they have very great display in their TFT/TFD display (Even T610 is very good for only a STN display phone. compare with other STN phone from other manufacturers! T610's display is still better.). SE is today considered one of the top display leader. Not the most superior, but they have THEMES!! The balance is important. What for superb display without themes? Sharp & Samsung have clear displays but no themes. Blah.. Motorola only got few themes. And those S60 Nokia phones have thousand of themes but the display is just pale. What for? I look for the best one, which is SE.
SE has good camera cause for me, I prefer sharp images with more noises to dull images with less noises. Blurry images always make me dizzy.
SE has a very good sound quality. You know it's because of the 'Sony' title.
SE interface is the most I like among the other manufacturers. It's so easy, less button pressing, and you can enter menus with the numeric keypad. You can send all the items via any connectivities available.
SE has designs that very loveable to my eyes. No doubt!
I think that's all the reasons why. Anyway, I don't that care about the uncustomizable SMS alert.
