Tomtom support probably dont have any info on fututer releases. All that they have to go on is the current list of compatible phones.

Stupid reaction of them, they even showed it on the CeBit and last saturday (where the pic was taken). UK doesn't knows what TT-NL is doing

It's coming very soon hopefully but when I say that they will delay it :S. Route66 will be a little bit earlier, I just orderd it.

Yes, I'm thinking of buying Route66 now (assuming Expansys actually get it instead of just sending me emails) and then TomTom when it comes out...
...but of course I do not want, or want to pay for, two GPS receivers!

TomTom are famous for you having to use their GPS, its sorta like activation as the software is linked to the GPS. I havnt seen any news about a non GPS included version being made available.
Route 66 seems to be the budget solution to sat nav. TomTom has a huge selection of add-ons such as speed cams, voices and the important ones like software upgrades and maps.
Route 66 dosnt include such options. Infact the only updates you can get are free bug fixes, map updates are not offered in any way shape or form, if you want the latest you need to buy the entire new retail package. Once you buy Route 66, thats it, you are stuck with it as is.

I concur with the above poster. BT GPS compatibility is mainly dependent on the class (range,data specs, etc.) of GPS receiver one is using. So a manufacturer might state what GPS receivers it is compatible with, but that doesn't mean that's where the list ends. It simply means they haven't tested their unit with all GPS receivers in the market. As long as it meets the core GPS requirements it has a good probability of working with their software. Nowadays almost all BT GPS receivers are manufacturered to the specifications that most GPS software would require.

TomTom Mobile 4 for series60 and windows mobile smartphone 2003 had their own GPS receiver in the package and was only meant to be for that. Than some cracker came around and other users could just get the software from somewhere (P2P etc.) and use it with other receivers.
With TT M5 they put the option for other receivers back in it but the package will only be sold in the first couples of months with a GPS receiver which is not bad. It is not sure that they will release only a software version.
But hey, they cracked TT M4 to soo...... (I don't say it but you could guess what I mean).
Today I had contact again and they solved the memory stick problem so it is ready!
Maybe within 3 weeks they start shipping, it is going pretty fast now!
I'll keep you guys updated.

I guess this is a question for Nils, In the guys above review of Wayfinder he says that the voice instructions can only come from the phone speaker not through his handsfree speaker / Car Stereo etc. Is this going to be the case with TOM TOM and Route 66? And if it does only come through the phones speaker has he found it loud enough in every day use?
Also and this is probably the question everyone wants answered, when are TOM TOM and Route 66 finally going to ship this product?

It cant go via the car kit speaker as the P series only outputs phone calls via the connector that goes to the car kit. The only other way would be to get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to plug into the side of the phone and somehow connect it to your car stereo. Its not realy the software designers fault.
