As we have ZERO idea about the walkman phones, who says they'll be limited in internal memory and rely on duo pro for the expansion?

To be honest thats current thinking, with mini hdd's and memory ever being inscreased, I'd say our ideas of what they're going to make are probably going to be VERY wrong.

Considering theres no idea what the form factor will be like, will it be conventional Sony MP3 player or a candy bar or smatphone like or will it be something new.

I for one am pretty excited, I've been staying away from an MP3 player but a device that combines a decent amount of storage, sounds good, and has the phone features I want would be absoloutly perfect for me. Take a sony Mp3 player now and shove my k700i inside and i'm sold ;D (long as it still plays tennis )

At least they'll hopefully sound better than todays phones with memory expansions.

You can't compare Walkman phones to N-Gage handsets . How different can they be? I know we will have to wait and see, but the fact that Sony Ericsson is cashing in on the Sony side of the relationship means they will, undoubtedly come up with something cool. They won't hold back if they have Moto and iTunes and there new model to contend with.

I mean, is there anyone in the world who doesn't know what Walkman is or does

There will be enough storage for 6 - 10 CDs worth in the model that will be launched in March, which translates to 320 mb at least!

The P910 might be able to play music but I really think Sony will be having a lot of input into the new Walkman phones.

SE will surprise us, if not in March but by the end of the year. Like I said before, I am guessing it will be a lot more than a new handset with a Walkman sticker on it.

As masseur rightly said to continue the discussion in this thread,

I doubt there will be a Wxxx series of walkman phones, and I also think that the K750i/D750i may very well be "low-end" walkman phones,
think about the evidence,

New connector where you DON'T need drivers to use and can drag and drop,
Supports mem-stick duo PRO magicgate,
Will come with a nice surprise in the box (128mb stick) or could be some very nice remote control headphones,
extra button on front - either multi-tasking or dedicated button,

without arguments, do you see what I am saying

Have a look at some of my posts in esato, and m-r and you will see what I mean
