Mercurial,

hmm, i thought i had the latest firmware. Obviously not compared to you. Then how on earth when i do a check on the SE support site, it says my CDA is up-to-date? What is the URL for Vina Online Update Service ( Sony Ericsson )? I cant find it on google.
My phone is an optus phone (Australia carrier). Maybe your firmware are for unbranded phones.

Yes, I have the exact same findings as Mercurial The starup time is really much much faster as compared to all pre-R4A10 firmware and also much faster than my old P900. The menu speed is also substantially faster as the previous R3 is so much slower than my good old P900. Now they are both comparable in terms of menu speed.

Cheers

After a few days with the update on my P910a I have found a few problems. First, lots of crashes. With the flip open, if I tap the battery icon and then settings, it will crash sometimes. It's done it about 4 or 5 times already. Also, when opening and closing the flip, sometimes the screen will go all white and i will have to reset the phone. I really had less problems before the update. I think it's about time for a real update that REALLY improves and REALLY fixes things.

I think going through the update again would solve this problem. I remember reading this suggestion at the update page.

This is poo. Not one place in Melbourne (AUS) has the latest firmware available for update. The SE online update wont be up til next week and it doesnt update the bluetooth version.

When will the latest firmware for P900 be released on SEUS?

Depends what firmware you have. You just might have it after all. Best to check the SEUS site unless you've already done so and verified you have the latest. In which case, its anybody's guess when the next would be, if any...

I have the latest firmware according to SEUS website but this firmware is never change since I bought my P900 last year (around mid 2004) so it can be said that I never get any chance to update my firmware from SEUS while another firmware is available from the sources other than SEUS, even there is also the upgrading of P900 to P910.

Well - after much reading, I've decided to update the firmware. Lo and behold, it all went smoothly and now I'm up to date with the damned thing. I think that all in all the entire thing took about a couple of hours. That is, backup, firmware update and restore.

It does seem a tad quicker, but not by much. The other thing I've noticed is that the "Sync" app no longer crashes, like in the previous version when I actually deleted its folder from the SMS/MMS/Area Info window pane. It doesn't put the folder back, but at least it doesn't crash anymore. I believe when I will have a swerver to sync it against, I'll be able to re-create/re-configure the app and all will be right again.

Anyways, if any of you has any doubts, R4A10 seems pretty stable so far. I'll give it a whirl in the next days and see how it behaves.

Cheers,

Ino!~
