@sibtainali. ok man nice then. @comtrack. man WARID must first fix the network and signal problem about which we are crying then they start EDGE or what ever but first thing is first we need the network detection on inserting the sim and we need good reliable full signals

Umer

Comtrak, warid is then then only cellular company in the world which is converting to 3.5G technology! For ur kind info the world has not yet adopted 3G,there is no existence of 3.5G todate! UMTS is 3G,EDGE is still 2.5G This message was posted from a K700i

Lets begin with simple call, its netwok dies off without any reason, specially in the evening time beginning from 6 to 10 PM.

I am using mobilink since last year.... i think its only rare that the calls dont connect. Even the international calls that i make (UK, USA, TANZANIA, DUBAI) connect on first try......thats great really.

Then its the sms, or the slow messaging service in mobilinks point of view, my friend sent an Eid Mubarak sms from mobilink to another number and it reached the other party the next day, he was lucky to get it as most of the time, the sms from the mobilink side just disappear.

Not once in the whole one year that i have used mobilink, has any sms been late, lest to say abt msges getting disappeared.

Again, never occured to me. But heard of it years ago really.......

Its the most reliable connection ever,

I have its sim as well. but not once have i dared to make it my primary line. the reason being, the network connectivity problem (that also not always......but i believe its not better than mobilink in call connectivity).

thats excellent for everyone.......

@aainpak. No offense man. Ok my friend. What ever you said about the call connectivity and sms even if we accept it. But still mobilink has no delivery report system for sms. So if other user has switch off or out of signal range then we can not know that he got the message or not or at what time it was delivered. I my self do not feel satisfied until i see the delivery report for the message. Up till now mobilink has gprs only in 4 cities for post paid users only not started for pre paid jazz users. On other net works interconnect charges apply. So you can only call mobilink users on cheap rates. Voice quality is very poor. Only advantage mobilink has is its vast coverage and has sold much more connections than others. Other wise it has nothing to offer to the users. Regards. Umer This message was posted from a Nokia

@Comtrak,keep it cool, i concede that i read it wrong and apolize to u! However, as per my naive knowledge there r only four frequency bands which are being used by GSM companies around the globe, that is why u might have seen that new phones are Quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900), this means 850 MHZ, 1900 MHZ etc.In fact for ur knowledge these frequencies are allocated by the Government under licence to the cellular companies! Most interestingly, non of these frequencies is 3.5 MHZ or 3.5 GHZ! Are u dead sure that what u wrote is true by any chance??????

Coming to our discussion, if Warid is in Pakistan introducing 3.5 GHZ/ 3.5 MHZ then it must be a revolution in the telecom industry in the world and it will be a big achievement, lolz, and this is highly unlikely! my mind doesnt accept that!

Anybody else wana express his/her comments on this? Anyone having more technical info might correct me if i am wrong!!

hi Guys
I think se7 is right
comtrack has miss understood
General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) EGPRS and EDGE are i think data transfer technologies not frequencies
GPRS allows mobile phones to be used for sending and receiving data.

Agreed to much an extent.

But u will admit to the fact that sometimes although the ufone delivers an sms, but delivery report still shows PENDING. This happens, although sometimes.

Secondly, sometimes, ufone smses hang on its way. Then we give a miss call to the recipient, and then only the message gets delivered.

Mobilink GPRS has been a late comer, plus a slow progress. I agree. But it has to cater to a big network of users. Thats a task really. If they open it for everyone at the same time, then might be they'll hav a slow GPRS. So they hav started on a limited (postpaid) and only in 4 cities.

Again, u r right that delivery reports are not there in mobilink, and thats sad. But still i feel confident in sending msges as never once in the last 12 or 13 months that i hav used mobilink, have any msg not been delivered.

@Aainpak. Yes man you are right about the two problems of the ufone sms that you mentioned. But as you said your self. It happens on very very rare. You are also right about the fact that the mobilink sms almost always delivers. But we do not know about the time at which it is delivered. As i already said that if other user has switch off or out of range we will never come to know when he got message. Regards. Umer This message was posted from a Nokia
