I don't know about others but I find Sandisk cards better than Sony when it comes to use with mobile phone.

The performance (or lack thereof) you are complaining about is 100% due to the handset. You are experiencing 1-2MB/sec transfer rate.

Both Sony and SanDisk cards will function 5x faster in an external USB reader. Both companies are now shipping with external USB readers.

Both cards are naturally in the 5MB/sec range for write and 10MB/sec range for read.

SanDisk also has Mobile Ultra M2 which is in the 6-8MB range.

Well don't know about max speed of the cards, but I think sandisk are better for use in phone. In fact it may be result of my bad experience with the sony cards,

@shelly58: DOn't worry man. About the card. If you get the Sony card genuine one. I mean original you are free of problems. I'm scared of Sony cards after having 2 fake ones... which gave me inbelieveable trouble...

what do you guys think about the 16gb ms pro duo mark 2. In nz it just went down to 399nzd and with my growing psp games library (yes, I have custom firmware) I could really use the extra space. will it be slower than my 1gb sandisk card, does it corrupt easily etc.

It shouldn't corrupt if used properly. Anyway if corruption appear a format should do the trick of restoring the card.

So mark 2 cards are faster than others or what... And which filesystem formatting does it have. Is it the same formatting type as the 8GB ones?

about the speed: I don't know thats what I was asking

about the mark2: Mark 2 Certification

To designate AVCHD recording support, the Memory Stick PRO format has added the Mark2 certification. Memory Stick PRO media products with this logo meet the higher writing speed requirements and are certified to operate with AVCHD recording products.
