Yeah, but I'm happy to carry two, as are alot of business users.
Plus, it's far cheaper for me. I can't afford to buy a BB outright, and as much as I love mine, I don't want to give up a normal phone just yet. I'd rather text with a phone keypad, and reply to the odd e-mail with my BB.
Although having said that, I use symbols quite alot in texts and the BB is proving very good for that, so who knows...

Rumor has been going around that a 3rd party company may allow for a PAYGO Blackberry email support. This would be VERY interesting; but not sure if RIM would go for it. Who knows. Ask around.

Silly question time:
What does it mean when your blackberry is unlatched?

In order to receive emails the BB's PIN is latched to a network.
To unlatch it, is to disassociate the PIN with that network, It doesn't involve any cost and can be done within minutes so doesn't normally cause any problems!

Just been into my local O2 shop to query the price of the 8310 on blackberry and was told that you can have the phone free on 12 month tariff for £15 a month (as already discussed) but only £10 a month on a 24 month contract. Basically all they charge you for is the blackberry bolton.

Well, thats the first I've heard 24 months come into the equation.
I know for certain, to business customers (or personal customers if you fake being a 'sole trader') it's £15/month 12 months.

Whoops! Just heard from a collegue down the road in our other shop that what I did (getting the handset free on BlackBerry only) was wrong, and even if the tell says free, aparently we can override it :/ Never mind lol
