Question. Which would you go for. GS2 in white or a HTC EVO 3D ?
The SGS2 would be branded to o2UK and the htc would be a fully sim free handset.
Anyone know of the best route to debrand the SGS2 form O2UK to Generic UK firmware ? Not too bothered about rooting yet.

Yea thats the same amount of branding on all the o2 phones I've had. They also change the firmware id though just like every other network.

@Rookwise, Definitely GS2 White, and you can get rid of that O2 branding @ any time

Yep, definetly the GS2, havent read much good about Evo 3D, even HTC seem to be treating it like a it like a unloved stepchild.
My white GS2 had Voda branding on it (boot up, and shutdown animation, and Voda wallpapers), i downloaded Odin, then went here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 and got the Luxembourg 2.3.6 FW then flashed my GS2 with it via Odin.

I think I will be going for the sgs2. Is the debranding process anything like using the x10 flashtool that was done for the xperia line ?
The htc Evo 3d is £229 sim free currently from ASDA online and I'd got to pay £80 to o2 to upgrade on my current tariff (£250 if I did it through carphone warehouse on the same tariff). I don't use my o2 sim as everyone I know is on Giffgaff but I'd see it as paying the line rental with o2 as basically paying off the phone.
Main reason for doing this is that my Xperia Ray's screen is too small for me to see anything properly. I use my 2yr old X10 more cos the screen is just right but want a newer phone with similar or bigger screen add the galaxy s 2 seems to be the only one I'd like. Only played with an Orange branded one though.

Yea tis a good price and you can arrange to collect it from in store saving postage costs. Still £559 most places for the HTC.

I got the Arc S now it's excellent from Phones4U. I like you realised the Ray screen is too small
