@jonfensu

The insider who have delivered reliable information in China told us the info about IPS.

For other things you asked, I have no idea. Sony has strengthened its "no leak" policy obviously. When I attempted to dig some info. about Sony 2014 devices on a Sony event, everyone's mouth seemed to be sealed.

@mobisekim
the news don't make sense - to release Z1 refresh with the same cpu - 800 in january and then in may to release a phone with smaller display - 5 inch phone but "maybe with 805". sony new flagships always had newer cpu. seems fake.

@Xajel
Thanks for the info, I am understading and Sorry So what kind of panel used Sony, VA?

@itsjustJOH
But There is a BIG step between S400 and S800. If D530x has a S800, it should get the same score of D550x

think Sony is using is starting to use mediatek soc, are they any good? Benchmark seems worse than qualcomm even with multi core. It make sense to not to stick to just qualcom and they can get a deal or some sort from mediatek for a supply chain for early supporter. But it is useless if the SoC is no good.

Sony Bluetooth wrist notifier arrives on the FCC. Is this the latest smartwatch from Sony?

A previously unannounced device from Sony called the SWR10 won approval from the FCC today. FCC filings call the device a “BT Wrist Notifier”, and test reports indicate that the device won approval for its use of Bluetooth. Label notations also show an NFC logo, which you can see in the center of the label pictured above.

It’s unclear what exactly the BT Wrist Notifier will do. In the past, Sony has referred to its LiveView smartwatches as wrist notifiers. However, the label location photo above shows an odd form factor for a watch.

MediaTek chips are mostly low power ARM A7 based, so even the very best MediaTek Octa CPU falls behind Intel, Nvidia, Samsung and Qualcomm quad cores.

They are the main chip supplier for many Chinese and Indian Android phone and tablet makers, but companies like Sony, Samsung, Htc etc...are now looking to use their chips in their low ends. I haven't read much good about MediaTek based devices TBH, but maybe with Android4.4 KitKat they'll be better.

The main advantage of a Mediatek chip should be its price point.
For less money you get the same performance as other popular chips.

Btw. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
