^ Sony put an 8mp selfie camera in the XA1, the new compact from what I believe is the same as compacts of old, 99% the same spec bar screen resolution and battery capacity as the normal sized flagship. Expect IP certification and top end CPU to make a return this year.

Off topic : Just got 7.1.1 today for my Z3+. After 23 days.
My computer is not working well so I always wait OTA.
I guess this is its last update.
Android 8 comes next month, I do not think any Sony gets 7.1.2 ..
BTW, I've read XZP may get 8.0 in december.. I believe it will be earlier, same hardware of new phones.
They may come 8.0 !!!

currently using xperia x and couldn't be much happier. The performance is very snappy like using snap 820 and I got it at a very cheap price
doesn't plan to upgrade atm

But X should have IP68 like M5. And X Perf the 4K recording.
Hybrid slot is bad too.
X would be great for my mother, but she needs dual + sd.
About the distortion, it happens to wider angle cameras.
If you guys really pay attention, Z phones have it too.
Usually doors and walls.

Actually the distortion on wide angle cameras doesn't similar to Xperia's distortion issues.
The wide angle camera usually show the Barrel distortion just like in this photo.
But the distortion on Xperia is very strange... Look at my dell monitor
