@786KBR: Ek se my broe, what do you take me for? ...I'll never spring non-English words on folks like Siosal- I've got moerse compassion for my peeps in ghettoes all over the world who are not versed in the finer ways of expressing yourself in the Queens language when forced in a corner and threatened with life.
On a serious note, it's quite weird( I'd say good) how we've become less British with our English accents...just looking at the likes of Michael de Morgan presenting the news on the old SAUK( via YouTube) one got the feeling that somehow apartheid South Africa, especially broadcasters, had a fond attachment to the British Empire and replicating the accents of the BEEB broadcasters.
Any special gifts you guys are expecting in your socks? Doesn't seem like I'll be getting the W850i for myself barring some kinda miracle.

roflmgdao! Sitting here at Spur having their delicious coffee, and i'm pissing myself laughing at "gamut of klaps"! Oh man, Sio, you made my day, broer!
As mentioned, too many folks dying on the roads. I'd love to see a festive season with zero fatalities in my lifetime... I have a radio scanner which i use during those moments of abject boredom, so i get to hear all the nasty things which don't always make it to the papers. It picks up police, ambulance, fire dept frequencies, and its genuinely scary how negligent people are during the festive period.
On a lighter note, Mrs.K is now using a 6680 and has discovered the joys of Symbian. I'm finding it difficult to pry her away from it these days

Ok.
The W850s are again Branded but worst now, Voda has unbranded handsets with Branded software, so to end the call you have to press the back button and to view your calls you have to press the internet button.
I wonder whos behind all these stupid ploys!!!

@786KBR: It can only be Vodacrap who would come up with anything as silly as that. I mean how do you explain to customers that they have to use the "back" button to end their calls. If I do buy one it's probably going to be an unbranded model.

Hi Guys!!!
I'm still alive, just been a bit scarce.
So I'm sitting here bored outa my skull at work when I decided to download some freebies on SE.
I came across Music Mate, the app where you can play/ construct your own music. Then I remembered that some time ago one of you guys asked out it and where you can find it. (not the Music DJ app that comes with the W810i).
Also not sure if someone answered the question yet for whomever asked it. (Think it was Francois that asked)
Well, I found it on wap.sonyericsson.com. Click on SE and this will take you to fun and downloads. All free, but I'm sure most of ya'll know this by now.
Its under aplications. (You also have to register if you not registered)
Hope this little bit of (late) information is of help.
To all of you, have a very safe and wonderful festive season!!!

Hey good seeing you again on the thread...speaking of applications I need to check what Nokia has got on their site, I've only been there once and didn't like their wap portal for the N-series...it looks very busy but they're not saying much.

Very busy at the mo, but just a few things.
Firstly, I learnt a new word there too, although reading 'gamut' in context clearly meant a collective noun of sorts. I really don't mind the odd verbose word or phrase around here; I enjoy expanding the vocab and both da brixsta and Kryptik in particular have caught me with a word here and there. If we were verbose too often, we would be shooting ourelves in the foot and putting people off; as it is I think we have a good balance. I like to mix with some colloquils while occasionally playing with such a rich, expansive language at times...indeed variety be the spice of life!!!
@ jmash,
Ya mfowethu, we're all busy I guess, but wait 'til Francois is back from his field work..
Also, I find taking pics with the phones and sharing them, particularly if there is a lull in the thread, helps to keep things ticking over, apart from the non-cellphone banter around here as well, whether it be from Smarties to cricket, politricks to old SA programmes... Yeah, gotta love this place; how much richer in knowledge are we from hangin' around here?
@ medusa,
Have a BRIL Christmas and New Year!
Right, gotta run again; see ya'll later.

Did anybody notice that it's the Summer Solstice today? Lekker loooong day, lol, altho one doesn't really notice it..

And so we move on passed the Peruvian thread's post count and even higher up the site's thread ladder!
A Buzz Lightyear line suddenly comes to mind...
Right, this koevoet-of-a-choccie came courtesy of one of the kids in the class...gonna take a while to finish this one!
Taken with the old P900:
That's Mrs A's J300i next to the thing, to give some indicator of scale.
