@dawny: depending on what u want to do with ur laptop/ pc, the 50 mb might not be sufficient. I dont really like the idea of using a laptop to browse on capped or set data charges. You will have to really tweek ur settings (no pix, limited javascript etc) to conserve ur MB.

@oluy: this is the 1st explanation i've heard abt the change from aya. Erm...., ehem. Whats up with that?

@dawn: its hard to say. Etisalat offers reasonable services elsewhere but we are used to thew trend of getting inferior services here (ala MTN) without the ncc batting an eye. Market forces doesnt seem to guide the services rendered. If etisalat comes out with a bang then we can expect more, but if they start off with mediocre services i doubt they will do any better in the future. Glo seems to have lost the competitive spirit but MTN has gotten thiers. If etisalat doesnt come out of the box with some services that are superior to mtn's, mtn might stay ahead of the game by tweaking up thier's.

@Abu" I couldn't agree more. But it would be nice to see Etisalat come out with something special, afterall, they've poached on all the networks, hiring their best brains and offering them dizzying salaries.

@All: Does anyone here have a software or application known as Globetrotter Connect? its a HSDPA PC-Card dialler application. I need it to use a Sony VIAO SZ series laptop with built-in HSDPA capabilities.
The default software loaded on the laptop is developed for T-Mobile and does not allow you change configuration (APN, Username, etc.)

@Dawny: Yes I use the MTN daily data package on my PC, but its only for when I get home, as I have broadband in the office. 50mb is quite large for someone like me who basically uses the web for mail, messaging, and the odd download. for heavy data downloads, I rely on my office connection.

@abubakar,after spendin so much 2 acquire licence nd spent so much 2 start operations,i dont think dey can afford 2 b mediocre wit service.if they are,am sorry 4 their investors.but wat i think and wats logical about it is, they came in pretty late wen most people have aqcuired lines nd fones.so dey hav 2 come up wit packages nd tariffs dat wil attract subs 2 their network.if not na only belo-osagie nd thier own staffs go buy their lines.

Jolly! its getting really interesting. Lets wait and see.

Reltel (Zoom mobile) is now live in Benin. In the space of just 3 months, Starcomms, Visafone, Multilinks and now Reltel have made their debuts here. Did they just discover this city on the map?
