Yes, but it does mess up color accuracy. Even in the Sharp Elite LCD this tech is used and due to the yellow sub pixel, color accuracy on it is not perfect.

Should we really be concerend about color accuracy? smartphones are media centric devices which means they are expected to output colors that are pumped up to achieve vivid, punchy color rendition of a particular subject which is more pleasing to the eyes than bland and pale natural colors.
