Off to another topic, abt a yr ago, i was hearing serious gist out of ncc abt general service interconnectivity, incl mms. Then silence. Now that vid calls have come into play, are we going to still have these old 2.5G services still limping? When do u think we will be able to make vid calls across networks? 2020?
I do make video calls from my glo line to mtn lines

@Dawny: Yes I currently work in Benin.
I wouldn't touch starcomms with a 40ft pole if I were u. Virtually everyone I know who bought starcomms for their internet is complaining right now. I currently use Multilinks but I have some problems with browsing here as I got my wireless card from their Lagos office and their customer care center isn't functional yet.

@Artwales: If u are able to make video calls, then how come u can't browse at 3g speeds.
I disagree that the so called elite phone users who are data aware only constitute 2% of the mobile phone market. You only need to visit portals like Prodigits or Nairaland to realise the extent to which Nigerians have embraced the data culture.
Oh yes attractive data service is the way to go for the new entrants into an already saturated telecommunications market.

To the best of my knowledge, neither glo or MTN has officially launched 3G in ibadan, so i guess they can not be held responsible for the inefficiency of their services yet. I do make video calls from my glo line to my wife's mtn line regularly and the cost is abt N50/min. The funny thing is,i am yet to meet anyone else who can make such calls.

@Dawny: I don't know much about visafone and the latest entrant Reltel as regards their data services, but I hear visafone is okay, but their tariffs are the highest

Don't know anything about Daarsat.
If Visafone claims to have hit the 1million subscriber mark, they could be right. But how many of these are active subscribers?
