@amby: have u tried the data-thirstiest app i've seen to date? Ie GMaps? For anyone that has got extra mbs from mtn's "24 hr" data bundle, try out the google maps. Its great if u have a fast connection. But beware if u are using "per kb".

While i was in maiduguri, the initial map was the default i guess, ie London. But in kaduna, it managed pin point me in kaduna. I guess it followed the trail of servers cos my phone has no gps.

Speaking of gps, does any SE phone have it? Or does one have to get a add-on?

Meanwhile, I wan mod my phone die.
I bought Mamba's P1i off him last month, and have been applying every possible mod for UIQ3. This phone is so cool if you dare to explore.

Now I have the following apps on my P1
IM+ global messenger
Olive Tree Bible
Torch light
Walkman player 3
Hardware shortcut button mod to start walkman
G900 notes (Sticky notes)
Changed default fonts to Lord of the ring fonts
Ability to install unsigned apps
Louder audio output volume......

Still searching for more.

I wonder how Mamba and Oluyom could let go of this phone.

On my WM i780, I need no mods to get any of the above apps (or better). I simply download the apps, and there we are. Now you know how I can let go of it - and not look back too

@Oluyom, did u use agilemessenger on ur P1? if yes, could u sign into yahoo messenger? IM+ has some login issues with yahoo so I'm forced to use wapmessenger.

No; I didn't. It wasn't freeware, so I passed.

I got tired of the touch screen and just felt like having a normal phone again. I now use a Nokia 6120/K800 which has all the basic things I need.

A friend of mine and I have tried getting the etisalat numbers via a bunch of networks, but Glo seems to be blocking the sms. we have tried 3 glo numbers but none have received the confirmation sms. thru mtn and zain it was almost instantaneous.

@Abu: If you were Adenuga wouldn't you do the same? I guess they've panicked and don't know how best to handle this.

@Dawny: I thought you said yesterday was the launch date for Etisalat. Have they kept their word?

Guys let us know if "better" dey for Etisalat

I'm sure Etisalat will inform everyone who registered a sim of thier launch date so they will have people buzzing around the offices on that day. with the range of lines they have on offer to register, I doubt they have the 1 million subs purported here earlier.

I believe that was visafone that claimed to have reached the 1million subs mark.

Still searching for Globetrotter Connect software.

Don't mind the glow people. The good news is, assuming you are using glo, once you've reserved the number, call 08098246673 again, it recognises the number you've called from and recites the number you've reserved. No pass code though........Oh, I have an N95-1 for sale, used but very cheap.......all offers text 08055025482

hi all.etisalat is the new buzz.ope is not all talk no action.cos companies dat work well outside nigeria, come here and give us crap.mayb bcos we re the happiest people on earth.we re used to managing anything,no matter how bad and unacceptable it is.mayb its the nigerian shareholders and staffs that make this foreigners offer us crap.there is even the gist of nigerian traders that go to china and ask producers to produce sub standard goods for them to sell in nigeria.its that bad.
