Have you tired repairing? Some have got the update that way.

@moogoo you have an X10a right? You should maybe try rooting and add in the pinch zoom or change your FW region to the global region. It won't effect your market region (that is dictated by the sim card), it only take a few minutes, 99% risk-free (barring doing something silly you can't go wrong), X10a FW and X10i FW is interchangeable (if you just want pinch-zoom add-on then you don't need to think about X10i FW at all) and you won't lose any functionality (in fact you will gain functionality and speed).

If you want a few tips or laymen step by step instructions from a serial flasher I'm here.

OMG BREAKING NEWS! Xperia X10 to receive Android Gingerbread by Q3 2011!

I have been working with this blog for almost 1 ½ years. After lots of interaction and discussion, by far the most intense discussions lately were around XperiaTM X10 Android upgrades. We earlier stated that we did not have plans for further upgrade of the XperiaTM X10 beyond Android 2.1 Éclair, which was correct at the time.

However, I am happy to inform you that this has changed. We plan to bring an upgrade to Android Gingerbread for the XperiaTM X10 to generic trade kits end Q2 / early Q3 this year. We have heard your requests all along but until today have not been able to confirm this. The great work on our 2011 products XperiaTM PLAY, XperiaTM arc and XperiaTM neo actually has enabled us to start the work in a special project bringing Gingerbread to the XperiaTM X10.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, YEEEES!!! =D

If I still have the phone at the end of Q2, if not: good for those that do. Excellent news regardless!

Now we get the best of both worlds...we've got a better looking phone than the Arc running the same software!! I'm totally stoked!

Thought there was no reason why they couldn't update to Gingerbread after trying out the Arc Launcher etc on the X10

Edit: I now feel sorry for people that buy an Arc which is literally only a 3% improvement over the X10.
