I seem to have the R5 FW after updating via SEUS but a friend of mine has R7. My phone was brought from CPW last week, his from Orange about 3 weeks ago. Is it possible that Orange already had R7 loaded onto their handsets at that time??
edit . . .
so I upgraded the firmware again and it has not gone up to R7. Do you have to upgrade one step at a time then?? And it would have been really REALLY nice if the damn software had mentioned that it was going to do a complete reset and remove all of my Contacts, appointments and applications!!!!!

if the note about backing up first was buried on that page of small print that you have to click 'I agree' on then it was exactly that . . . buried
Something that important should be in BIG LETTERS on a screen on it's own. Got everything back now but only because I've only had the phone for a couple of days and hadn't done much too it yet . . . and on the plus side while trawling around to re-download my apps again I found Lemmings!!

Reports on My-Symbian say Voda users can update via SEUS to R7 firmware.

Sorry to forward that kind of news, but according to a famous and usually well informed French "forum guru", the "Week 48 rumour" is unfounded and there won't be any public firmware release in november
Hi,
My source is the Product Manager for SE Nordics, Per Alksten, as well as Jakob Rydén, Product Manager Walkman section.
Cheers
This was posted at my-symbian. Per Alksten is a MAJOR manager at SE...i think the week 48 info is not just a rumor any more

It is in in big letters - on my screen about 7mm high in a 20mm high button. So is the confirmation request! How big do you need it
Are you using the latest download software (2.6.4.9)?

Yep the data will be deleted warning is pretty big & requires you to click it, twice i think, with 'Yes' first on one side then again on the other.
