I recently installed Arc Launcher and loved it. looks so much cleaner and nicer than the old launcher for the Xperia x10.

Hey Big_D (or anyone else who reads this and knows the answer), I also installed the Arc Launcher after reading your post and I also prefer it. Much better design being able to access your favourite folders from the bottom task bar, no matter what screen you're on.

I have no idea where to find the Music Player program to add to my Media folder. I already have Mediascape in there, but would like to add dedicated shortcuts to Photos, Music and Video. Where would I find them?

Thanks in advance!

@Harribolman The X10 doesn't have standalone apps for music/photos/videos so you won't find shorcuts to add in directly. On the ARC the apps for music/video/photos are standalone so it works for them. If you want standalone apps there are ways to get the stock android music/photo/video apps on the X10. In my opinion, the stock apps are faster and prettier too.

@Hobbs
Thanks, I am super excited. I'm refreshing my fed-ex tracking page more often than I refresh this page! It's currently been in a fed-ex truck for 2 hours..

@mode Thanks, my gf seems to be particularly good at throwing stuff out. I caught her trying to take my favourite jeans the other week!

You can use tbe x10 flashtool to put stock android gallery 3d on the phone. Comes bundled in with the flashtool along with a modded htc keyboard which you can choose to install.
For music just download Poweramp. You wont find anything better imo.

Other options are to search the Andeoid maeket for Gallery Shortcut and download that.

What exactly you like about X10 over iPhone?

So far, I've found quite a few things I like about it over the iPhone:

- Uses a standard micro usb port for charging & data.
- User removable battery.
- Micro SD slot.
- 3 hardware navigation buttons + a camera button instead of only one.
- Better notifications.
- Seems snappier in many respects.
- Handles incoming calls properly when connected to the bluetooth handsfree in my car stereo. i.e. Defaults to the handsfree instead of the handset like my iPhone 4 did (very annoying.).
- Getting reports of much better voice quality from people I'm talking to when I'm using various bluetooth handsfree devices.
- Much more open - not chained to iTunes, easy to flash, custom roms, etc..
- Built-in real-time stock application - Finance.
- Better integration with Gmail, Picasa, and Facebook.
- Better camera and flash.
- Built-in GPS turn by turn navigation application.
- Detailed battery usage info.
- Comes in both white and black.

What else am I missing?

even the speed of UI is better in X10? wow that's a surprise to me but always wanted to understand better why apple users liked X10.
Enjoy your X10 and with 2.3 update am sure there is a lot more to it now

Thanks for your reply!

Don't tease about that kind of stuff man. My phone still has a flight and a couple more trucks before it's in my hands..

Yeah, I was surprised too but I did find the UI on the X10 to be snappier in most cases. A couple more things I've noticed:

- X10's transflective display is *much* better in direct sunlight than the retina display.
- Android has better integration with Google Talk as expected.
